Well, I really have no clue what day it is today. It’s Monday? Labor Day? Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown?
Everything is a blur after moving my son into his dorm on Friday!
I only ran once last week. Instead, I filled my workout time with more gentle (yet super effective) workouts like walking, barre, yoga, and pilates. I’m a little sad that I didn’t get to the beach to run over the weekend but it just wasn’t happening.
Oh, this morning is the Labor Day 5-mile race in Long Beach, also known as the first race where I placed second in my age group.
While I’m totally not interested in running a race at the moment, I still look at the trophy from that race every day in my china cabinet. Very proud of myself for this one. 🙂
Monday – 3 Mile Walk + 16 Min Ab-Focused Flow
Tuesday – 45 Min Barre (3 lb weights)
I can’t remember the last time I did a barre workout. Lifetime has great barre options and I think I like them better than Pure Barre because they involve more compound, dynamic movements.
Wednesday – 25 Min Cardio Warm Up with Full Body Flow + 30 Min Walk
I LOVE it when Melissa Wood Health workouts include a cardio warm-up – short and sweet but so effective.
Thursday – 5 Mile Run
The horrific rain had ended by this morning so I was able to run outside.
Friday – 23 Min Yoga-Focused Flow
I figured a little yoga first thing would help me get ready to move my son into his dorm this morning.
The weather was absolutely PERFECT for moving in today too.
Saturday – 26 Min Inner/Outer Thighs Flow + 4.5 Mile Walk
Sunday – 30 Min Pilates + 4.5 MIle Walk
I didn’t even plan to walk the same distance as yesterday! It just happened. I was on the phone for a lot of the walk and suddenly, I was at 4.5 miles.
Wishing those who celebrate a very happy, healthy, and sweet new year!
Yoga before move in was a good choice. Move-in is exhausting emotionally, mentally, and physically!
