Not Sure What I Want To Eat Phase

I’m in my not sure what I want to eat phase. It’s not fun. I hate standing in the kitchen completely unsure of what it is I’m in the mood to eat. It’s actually so funny to me how I get so bored with what I eat for lunch and dinner but never get tired of oatmeal for breakfast. I’m set each morning with my coffee and oatmeal but lately, lunch and dinner are just confusing. I don’t really know what it is I want to eat.

I was super hungry when I stopped at Mario’s for dinner. I chose two vegetable slices instead of one slice. I’m not the runner I used to be who was running 40+ miles a week which translated into an insatiable appetite but I was so hungry on this particular day. My eyes were bigger than my stomach with this but I was really hungry. I didn’t finish both slices but I did need to eat more than my usual one slice of pizza and salad.

We tried to go to the new Dirty Taco location but the wait outside was insane. That’s how we ended up at The Cheesecake Factory. Even though this has been my salad order for twenty years, I was in the mood to eat it. I wasn’t bored with this meal!

This lunch at Wild Fig was amazing. I hadn’t been to Wild Fig in quite some time so when I was in the area, I made the stop for lunch. I created this salad of lettuce, onions, cucumber, hummus, lentil salad, and chickpea salad with pita bread on the side.

So I don’t really like store-bought hummus but needed something different to eat so I chose this Tabbouleh Style Hummus from Trader Joe’s. I would say it’s good. I used it in a salad with lettuce, cucumbers, feta cheese, chickpeas, and tomatoes.

Salads are actually on my “not in the mood to eat it” list which obviously makes no sense when you read this post because I keep showing pictures of salads. I picked up this salad from Chopt but made the mistake of not ordering it ahead of time. It’s really hard to order in person because no one can hear what the other person is saying between the masks and the plexiglass dividers. Next time I will think ahead.

Grilled Mozzarella Cheese & Tomato on Ezekiel Bread

Toasted Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel Bread with Peanut Butter

Toasted Bagels with Mashed Avocado

Oh! And Banza Mac & Cheese!  It’s so good.

    Oh I feel ya, lady! I’ve been in a very similar mood. It’s especially annoying after a workout when I know I should eat, and I do feel hunger pangs, but NOTHING sounds good. I’ve actually been loving super easy quesadillas. I buy these simple whole grain tortilla thins and basically either do a breakfast quesadilla with a soft scrambled egg, spinach, and melty cheddar, or I do a more dinner-y one with mashed avocado, maybe some hummus, and random veggies. It’s actually super satisfying. I find going back to old kid favorites really works. Oh and uh, if all else fails, pancakes for dinner has honestly been a go-to. (We’re in a global crisis; why the heck not? 😉 )
