I Like Makeup (Beauty Favorites)

Happy Friday! Actually, more like, TGIF.

So this picture really suits me. In fact, it’s even kind of me to say I like two people and not just one. I really should have bought this picture to hang in my bathroom to overlook my insane amount of makeup and beauty products. Perhaps I will go back to buy it. I was more excited when I spotted the picture at Homegoods to take a picture of the picture and send it to my friend Heather.

She’s one of the two people I actually like in this world. I’m always so glad that I was friendly enough in 1987 to walk up to her at camp to say how nice she looked in her outfit. We’ve been friends ever since.

I like makeup

Anyway! Let’s talk about beauty products quickly today. I bought a few new things this week but also wanted to give shout outs to other beauty favorites of mine as of late.

First, and no joke, Olaplex is the very best shampoo/conditioner duo I’ve ever used. Actually, it’s the conditioner that I can’t live without — I do LOVE the shampoo but I rotate the Olaplex Bond Maintenance NO. 4 shampoo with another one (I wash my hair twice a week, sometimes three times) but I ONLY use Olaplex Bond Maintenance No. 5 Conditioner. Trust me when I say, you will feel and see the difference as soon as these products touch your hair. My hair always looks nice and my own blowouts are as satisfying as the salon ever since switching to Olaplex.

Sephora already has the Olaplex Holiday Hair Fix Kit out which is a great deal and includes:

– 3.3 oz/ 100 mL No. 3 Hair Perfector™
– 3.3 oz/ 100 mL No.4 Bond Maintenance™ Shampoo
– 3.3 oz/ 100 mL No.5 Bond Maintenance™ Conditioner
– 3.3 oz/ 100 mL No.6 Bond Smoother™

Olaplex products are made with clean ingredients and great for all hair types. Please let me know if you try one of the products! Would love to hear how Olaplex works for your hair too. 🙂

Glossier

I’ve been mentioning Glossier a lot lately and just ordered a few new products that arrived at my door this week.

I had tried a sample of Glossier Cloud Paint and fell in love immediately with how easy the blush is to apply and how pretty and natural it looks. It’s a cult favorite which totally makes sense to me now.

I also decided that I needed a loose powder, which is not a normal product for me. I don’t have oily skin and prefer the dewy look in comparison to matte. However, I need to have the loose powder in the house for days when I feel like I should set my makeup and ensure there’s no shine (I like dewy but no shine) when I am live on recorded webinars for work.

I went with the Wowder Duo which includes both powder and brush. I love how the brush comes in a pretty pink zip lock pouch! Glossier always ships products in a pink zip pouch but the extra pouch for the brush made my day.

glossier products

Glossier offers so many skincare and makeup sets which is a great way to get started with their products. They bundle products together for you so you don’t have to think too much.

Also! I love the Glossier Haloscope which is a highlighter stick that goes on easily without allowing you to overdo things.

In other beauty product news, Versed (which is available at Target) just came out with a new Doctor’s Visit Resurfacing Mask. It’s on my shopping list for this weekend. I’ve read excellent reviews and really want to try it.

And finally, I’ve including Stoney Clover in today’s post because you can hold your beauty products in their pouches. Another new Stoney Clover launch happened this week featuring pretty colors for fall. I’m eyeing the duffle in the sparkling champagne and love all of the pouches designed with the new colors and glitter hearts. The new glitter rainbow with pearls is adorable and classic too.

Have a nice weekend!
