Hi! How are we doing? I hope you are able to get outside for your runs and walks each day. Fresh air makes all the difference, now more than ever before if you ask me.
A few quick notes before getting to my workout recap from last week:
I ran what I think is the higher end of my average: 4 running days with a total of 22 miles. It wasn’t planned in advance, it’s just how things worked out by Saturday. 22 miles for a week is not even close to what I used to do yet it feels like more than enough.
I’m still really enjoying the indoor virtual workout options from Lifetime. Like I mentioned last week, it’s been really nice and energizing to mix up my on-demand type of workout options. Although, I feel myself coming back a little more to Pure Barre or at least figuring out how to balance Pure Barre with the strength/barre/yoga workouts from Lifetime.
And of course, I’m still doing a lot of walking at different times throughout the day.
I thought it would be fun to show you beautiful photos that my work friends take during their walks. We are all walking to break up the stuck at home feeling and some of us have some incredible views during these walks!
I am lucky to work with amazing people across not only the United States but across the world too! My work friend in San Francisco sent me this picture overlooking San Francisco. This is a park where she likes to walk these days for fresh air.
And my work friend in the U.K.? Well, she takes her daily walk right now by Windsor Castle. No big deal, just the castle where Harry and Meghan were married.
And one more for you — a beautiful sunset from Israel. I think people are appreciating nature and views more than ever right now. I know I am!
Monday – 5 Miles
I made this one up as I went along and enjoyed it.
- 2 miles easy + 3 miles like this:
- .25 mile hard/.25 easy/.50 hard
- .25 easy/.25 hard/.25 easy/.25 hard
- .25 easy/.75 hard
Tuesday – 4 Miles/10 Min Pure Barre
I thought I would run 30 minutes easy but then I was outside and in the mood to mix things up just a bit and then extended to 4 miles total.
- Mile 1: .75 easy/.25 hard
- Mile 2: .75 easy/.25 hard
- Mile 3: .50 easy/.50 hard
- Mile 4: .50 easy/.50 alternating .10 hard/.10 easy
When I came home, I did a quick 10 minute Pure Barre workout.
Wednesday – 20 Min Kickboxing/30 Min Shred
It was a little rainy this morning so I figured today was a good day to try a few more Lifetime workouts. I hadn’t done the 20-minute kickboxing yet so I combined that with Shred, which was strength training mixed with a little cardio. Today was fun!
Thursday – 5 Miles
It was nice to be outside before it started to rain.
Friday – 30 Min Kickboxing/30 Min Mixx
I did both of these Lifetime workouts last week (I think, or was that the week before?).
Saturday – 8 Miles
I wasn’t so sure how long I would run today but I had the time to run more than 5 miles so I just went with it until deciding on 8 miles.
First 4 easy and then I fell into this pattern once I felt warmed up:
- Mile 5: .25 hard/.25 easy/.25 hard/.25 easy
- Mile 6: .50 hard/.25 easy/.25 hard
- Mile 7: .25 easy/.75 hard
- Mile 8: cool down
Sunday – 45 Min Pure Barre
It felt good to get back to a longer Pure Barre workout. 🙂
So, have you been walking more? Where do you walk? Is your walking route scenic?
