Friday Favorites (funnies, skincare, good sales)

It’s Friday. Did you know that? The news anchor on television thought it was Tuesday so clearly we are all confused.

As I said in Wednesday’s post, I’m sticking with what I know and doing the regular routine here because that’s really important during uncertain times. Therefore, I have some Friday Favorites for us.

This cracks me up every time I look at it. In fact, I like to look at it often because I truly laugh out loud every time I view it.

And this too. So funny yet SO TRUE. My hair will be fine but my nails are another story. Not quite sure I can manage how to do my own manicure but we are about to find out in a few days when I feel like my nails are too long I guess.

Annie is one of my all-time favorite movies. Perhaps I should watch it this weekend. I actually haven’t had time yet to watch much television which I am grateful for — work has been busy all week so my routine has felt mostly normal thus far.

Now is a great time to take care of our skin, by the way. It’s all about self-care! We can’t control what’s going on in the world but taking care of ourselves is really important!

With more time at home, add taking care of your skin to your list of things you can do for yourself.

I recently posted my favorite clean skincare products — take a look back at that post for a good listing of my favorite clean skincare products.

Target is giving a $10 gift card when you spend $40 on skincare. If you are headed to Target to stock up on food and household items, stop by the skincare aisle before heading to the checkout line. Or, simply order online.

I recommend the very reasonably priced clean skincare products from Versed. Here are a few of my favorites if you need a starting point.

I also saw this article,  At-Home Spa Day Cookbook, for making your own skincare treatments using ingredients you likely have at home right now.

Heck, I’m going as far as playing with my makeup more than ever. It’s a good time to clean out what I have and see what I still like. I’m literally standing in the bathroom at night and testing out lipsticks while taking pictures to see what is still good and what colors maybe aren’t my favorite anymore before going in the shower. Fun times.

Now for my usual fashion and accessories favorites.

There are A LOT of sales right now. Of course, the economy is not in a good place and now may not be the best time for you (or any of us – I work in the event industry which is being hit hard) to spend money on items we don’t need. However, it’s important to still browse around if that’s what you like to do. I know it’s what I like to do and I try to keep my usual routine as best as possible.

And, if there were some items you had your eye on, they may be on sale so it may be your opportunity.

Here are some great sales From ShopBop like I spotted this week:

The Stoney Clover NYC Pearl Small Pouch and GLAM Small Pouch are on sale!

Also, if you like dogs, you will like this Mini Pouch

Obviously still pricey but worth sharing:

Golden Goose Superstar Scribble Sneakers

Golden Goose Superstar Paisley Sneakers

Nordstrom is running 25% Off Select Items:

If you need a new pair of running shoes, the Brooks Ghost 12 (my current favorite) is on sale!

The UGG Fluff Yeah Genuine Sheerling Slides are trending big time right now. Although they are considered slipper sandals, people are wearing them outdoors — perfect for right now though since most of us are home if you want to wear them around the house.

Splendid ribbed tanks are a good basic as are the Splendid Scoop Neck Jersey Tees., and Splendid Classic Flare Cardigan. All three pieces are timeless and can be worn year-round.

These BP joggers look comfy and are on sale for a great price.

It looks like their Stoney Clover collection all part of the sale too. if you want my advice if you had to pick one, go with the GLAM Small Patent Makeup Pouch. I have it and love it.

Mac Lipsticks are the best. Go with a Cream sheen or the Lip Glass. Oh, and the Plumping Lip Gloss is on sale too.

Have a good weekend. 🙂
