Food Photos + City Meals + Trader Joe’s

While scrolling photos on my phone, I noticed that I had pictures of meals that I never shared here on the blog. We all know that I simply do not take pictures of my meals as I used to do. I totally realize that what I eat is still of high interest to my readers, but I simply cannot keep up with taking daily food photos as I did in the past. However, I do have a bunch of recent meals and food photos to share today so hey, we have something here, right?!

Like this eggplant pizza. I was at Monte where I normally would order the whole wheat vegetable pizza but I don’t love that as much anymore. So, the eggplant pizza became my choice on this particular day. It was good, no complaints.

I’ve had dinner at Wild Ink (which is one of the restaurants located at Hudson Yards) twice now in the last little while.

You can look right out at the Hudson Yards Observation Deck that you likely see plastered all over Instagram– see, there it is.

The mushroom dumplings are terrific at Wild Ink, as are the chickpea fritters. I had salmon on one occasion at this restaurant,  but I’m not really a good judge on such a dish as I maybe eat salmon once a year.

The desserts at Wild Ink are great. I had that chocolate cake below both times.

These mini cupcakes from The Little Cupcake Bakeshop located downtown on Prince Street made it to my Instagram but never to the blog.

And I never posted this veggie burger that I had before getting those mini cupcakes. Not too sure on the name of the restaurant we were at though – I think it was on Prince Street? Maybe, maybe not.

The other day while in the city, all I wanted was a bagel with some jelly. My stomach had felt a little off all morning so a giant bagel was all I could imagine eating to make the weird feeling go away. This cinnamon raisin bagel from Pick a Bagel was perfect. I started to feel better after eating it. Sometimes, one just needs a bagel to make things better.

My usual vegan cobb salad order at The Cheesecake Factory.

A quick Trader Joe’s stop over the weekend. As my dad would say, weren’t you just at Trader Joe’s? Yes, probably. I stop in quite often. It is what it is.

And look! Colorful Carrot Coins are back to the frozen section!

Also in my basket:

  • Frozen blueberries
  • Veggie Burgers
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Frozen Organic Pizza Crusts (my son likes these pizza crusts)
  • Frozen Broccoli
  • Frozen Asparagus
  • Organic Chickpeas
  • Organic Tomatoes

My basket is missing an avocado because the avocados were all too overripe for my taste. And, no romaine lettuce. I’m a little lost without my bags of organic romaine lettuce since I live on salads but I’ve been making do with whatever lettuce blend I can find. I hope they sort out the romaine scare ASAP!

Love seeing your eats! Let’s me imagine I live in New York rather than rural NZ for even just a moment 🙂

And that eggplant pizza, that is gorgeous. Going to recreate that in ‘Trattoria Michelle’ very soon! And with 3 teenage girls I am forever grocery shopping too!
