workout recap (11/18/19 – 11/24/19)


Last week got away from me in terms of writing a blog post after posting my workouts last Monday. It was a busy week for sure, but I still made time for my workouts almost every morning.

Monday – 5 Miles (treadmill workout)

I go into my treadmill runs thinking I will do a 30-minute workout yet lately, I continue to 4 or 5 miles.

Here’s sort of what it looked like (can’t remember specifically):

  • First 5 min: easy
  • 5 – 10: 30 sec hard/30 sec easy
  • 10 – 20: 2 min hard/1 min easy
  • 20 – 41: 3 min hard/1 min easy = 5 miles
  • cool down to 45 minutes

My easy speed was at 6.3. My hard minutes ranged from 7.5 – 8.6. When running the 3-minute intervals, I start conservatively at 7.5/7.6 before jumping above 8.0. This works for me as a way to not tire or burn out too quickly in a workout.

Tuesday – Off

I had to be in the city fairly early for our annual luncheon. While I could have squeezed in an earlier morning workout today, I didn’t feel the need.

This year’s luncheon was at the iconic Rainbow Room — It just doesn’t matter that I’m a life-long New Yorker, the views of the city are stunning and never get old.

Wednesday – 5 miles (outside)/10 Min Pure Barre (thighs & seat)

I took advantage of the weather (right around 40 degrees) to get outdoors for my run today.

Thursday – 3 Miles/10 Min Pure Barre (seat & abs)

It was colder than yesterday but zero wind and sunny.

Friday – 3 Mile Walk/5 Min Pure Barre (arms)

Saturday – 5 Miles (outside)

A little cold for me (37 degrees or so) but sunny with no wind.

Sunday – 45 Min Pure Barre

Rainy day today, otherwise I would have gone for a walk too.

The weather is looking decent this coming week (aside from the wind they are forecasting for Thanksgiving which is not good for the Thanksgiving parade or me, I hate running in the wind) so hopefully, they adjust that forecast!
