Here’s a quick breakdown of last week’s workouts:
- 3 running days – one treadmill workout
- 3-morning walks
- 1 elliptical workout
- 4 Pure Barre workouts
I found myself in the gym for three mornings in a row. It had been a while since I was in the gym this often in one week (probably since last winter) but I was totally fine with it. The change in scenery and workout structure was nice. Plus, I KNOW more indoor workouts are on their way as the seasons continue to change.
Speaking of change, who else is super happy about the time change? I mean, parents with little kids probably hated yesterday morning (I know I did when my son was little!) but overall, the earlier sunrises right now will make getting up and getting outside to run (or walk) that much easier. While I don’t love that it gets so dark so early in the evening, the early morning sunlight is much more important for me – both for my son getting up for school and my workouts. 🙂
Monday – 15 Min Pure Barre (abs/core) + 30 Min Run
Tuesday – 15 Min Pure Barre (full body) + 40 Min Walk
Wednesday – 4 Mile Treadmill Workout
- Minutes 1 – 5: Warm-Up
- Minutes 5 – 10: 30 sec hard/30 sec easy
- Minutes 11 – 33: 2 min hard/1 min easy
Total: 4 Miles
I pushed a little harder during this workout in comparison to the speed workout I did on the treadmill last week. My speed went as high as 8.6, with easy minutes at 6.5.
Thursday – 30 Min Treadmill Incline Walk/20 Min Pure Barre
Rainy weather meant another gym day. I like incline walking on the treadmill though! I range the treadmill incline between 7.0 – 12.0 (I don’t love to stay too long over 10.0 as I start to get cautious not to lose my form or feel uncomfortable).
For speed, I average between 3.8 – 4.5.
Friday – 45 Min Elliptical
Heavy winds after last night’s storm put me in the gym again!
After two days in a row on the treadmill, I opted for the elliptical. I hadn’t done an elliptical workout in a really long time. While I was never one to compare the distance I cover during elliptical workouts to my running workouts, I did notice that today’s elliptical workout had me complete 3 miles under 30 minutes. That is definitely fast for me on the elliptical, all while ranging intervals and playing with high resistance. Quality workout, for sure.
