Weekly Workout Recap (June 16 – June 23)

I got back into a workout groove this week although it’s a different groove in comparison to before I was sick.

While my weekly mileage had been up a bit, averaging 20 – 25 miles a week this spring, I was not in the mood to run that much this past week. And probably won’t run that much this week either.

I’m very in tune with my mood for running and right now, I’m kinda feeling like 30 minute runs, long walks, and Pure Barre workouts are where I am at.

Of course my running mood can change at any moment, but for now, this is how I am feeling and I don’t argue with it.

I’m just thrilled we had a nice weekend of weather after last week’s mess of endless humidity and rain. Thankfully the overall forecast this week is looking nice (and warm!).

Monday – 3 Miles

It was 70 degrees and super humid. 3 miles to get back in a groove.

3 miles

Tuesday – 45 Min Pure Barre

Wednesday – 3 Miles

Another humid morning.

Quick 3 miles. I had more time but didn’t feel like running any longer than I did. I walked another 20 minutes.

Thursday – 35 Min Treadmill Workout!

It was super humid, foggy, and drizzly, so I opted for the treadmill. I felt like a quick treadmill workout anyway.

Here’s what I did:

Min 1 – 10: 5 min easy/5 min of 30 sec hard/30 sec easy (love this as a warm-up)

Min 10 – 20: 1 min hard/1 min easy

Min 20 – 30: 2 min hard/1 min easy

Min 30- 35: 3 min hard/1 min easy/2 min hard/cooldown quick

I finished over 4 miles.

Friday – 45 Min Pure Barre

Saturday – 5 Miles

Finally a nice sunny morning! The first mile of my run got messed up because my phone initially shut off for no apparent reason. Thankfully I restarted it and the battery was fine so I was able to continue rather than go inside to charge it. Sometimes when my phone shuts off like this, it turns on with low battery which would not have been fun at the very start of my run!

I planned to run 5 miles with 1 easy, 3 with effort, 1 cool down.

5 miles

Sunday – 60 Min Walk

My planned Pure Barre workout went out the window when I started organized the kitchen pantry. With several heavy bags of garbage (I don’t even know what I got rid of?!), the pantry task became my weight lifting workout followed by a beautiful walk in the sunshine (after taking all of the garbage out).

I’m not really sure why I am suddenly on an organizational frenzy although I usually take on projects like this at the same time as packing my son for his summer programs. He leaves next Sunday (!!) so right now is all about going through his clothes (and clearly, everything else in the house at the same time) as I organize what he will take with him for his month away.
