Workouts From The Week (4.15.19 – 4.21.19)

I don’t have a lot to say about this week in workouts! I ran 3 days: 2 speedy, 1 easy. There should have been another run day in the mix but I chose to walk instead. What is interesting actually, is if I calculated my workout week Sunday – Saturday instead of Monday – Sunday, there would, in fact, be an extra 8 mile run in my week. I guess it really depends upon how you choose to look at things.

Monday – 50 Min Pure Barre

A crazy rainy morning made me extra happy to be inside with a Pure Barre workout. I didn’t plan on running today anyway.

Tuesday – 4 Miles

Ideally, I would have run 5 miles but only had time for 4 today so I went out there with the mindset of making the miles count. Effort > Distance.

4 miles

Wednesday – 5 Miles

The weather forecast for the next several days shows rain at various times so I knew I needed to run today to ensure an outdoor morning. I had the time so I continued on for 5 miles even though I was tired (from watching last night’s Islanders playoff win) and yesterday’s speedier run.

Was on the phone for the first few miles which kept me moving slowly which was good because faster wasn’t going to happen today.

5 miles

Thursday – 45 Min Pure Barre

Friday – One Hour Walk

I didn’t feel like running but did feel like a walk. It wasn’t raining yet so it worked out perfectly. I don’t track my walks but will assume I covered a little over 3 miles.

Saturday – 1 Hour Treadmill (7.17 miles)

I slept a solid 10 hours two nights in a row which probably helped me to feel so full of energy this morning. It was raining so I headed to the treadmill.

I did not plan anything in advance other than thinking I would run for an hour.

This is an interesting way to share a workout but it’s how I thought of the 60 minutes while on the treadmill. I broke the hour of running into 10-minute sections:

1st 10 min – warm up 5 min easy/5 min 30 sec hard/30 sec easy

2nd 10 min – 1 min hard/1 min easy

3rd 10 min – 2 min hard/1 min easy

next 20 min – 3 min hard/2 min easy

last 10 min – 4 min hard/1 min easy

Sunday – One Hour Walk/20 Min Pure Barre

I got dressed to run but ultimately chose to walk. After my walk (which was probably a little over 3 miles), I picked a 20 minute Pure Barre workout as I couldn’t remember my last Pure Barre day.

My son is off for spring break this week and the weather is sort of looking up with fewer showers (I think?) and warmer temps. Have a great week ahead!
