Quick Hello + Tavares Returns + Favorite Skinny Jeans

I’m popping in quick to say hello and Happy Friday!

It’s been a busy week workwise and a very busy week hockey wise too! Lots of Islanders home games this week (and this weekend) but last night totally takes the cake.

Not that many of my readers care at all, but last night’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs was absolutely one of the best games I have ever attended in my entire life and I love knowing that my son will remember the game for the rest of his life too. I would say it was the best I’ve ever attended but I can’t neglect the playoff games I went to as a kid so let’s just call it a top three game in my lifetime.

I paid a small fortune to be in attendance last night as us Islanders fans welcomed John Tavares back to New York. I say that sarcastically because we gave the guy hell as no other fan base can. AND IT WAS AMAZING. There were easily 12 different chants going against him (like, WE DON’T NEED YOU) combined with booing every time he came on the ice or touched the puck to the point where you couldn’t hear a thing — it was truly special.

Listen, fans around the league can have what to say because it’s not their team. Have all the rationale you want when you have no emotion attached to the situation. They can continue to tweet all they want about how we are classless but the truth is, this is hockey. This is New York. This is a situation where your captain lies about wanting to stay and then drags out a decision until it’s too late for us to get anything for him in return. It’s him who is classless. He didn’t respect us so why can’t we give him a little hell in form of free speech when he returns to our building? He even said he doesn’t owe anyone anything so why do we owe him a parade of applause- for what? Last night was the ultimate fan experience, and the Islanders blew out the Maple Leafs, 6-1.

Thank you for listening to my ranting. I may or may not call in today to NHL radio programs to continue to preach. 🙂

So just a few other quick notes before I go get my Friday going.

Tie-Dye is taking over. Well, that’s nice to hear, even though I’ve been wearing it anyway for years.

I like this tie-dye hoodie from Aqua and this zip up one from Forever 21!

I LOVED reading this article literally a day after my friend Lisa and I discussed how invaluable our skinny jeans are to our wardrobes. We find skinny jeans to be the most flattering on our petite frames, especially when we wear them the exact way the article cites. Even though boot cut and flare are coming back in style, I am not switching what I wear or giving up my skinny jeans.

I’ve shared my favorite skinny jeans in the past but here they are again. You totally need them if you want to wear jeans that fit well and make you happy every time you put them on.

This pair of B(air) Denim in Duchess and Dark Wash too.

My Destroyed Skinny Ankle jeans are currently on sale and the black pair is on my list.

Have a great weekend! I will be back on Sunday with my workouts which have been great this week, by the way. So far, two awesome speed workout on the treadmill!

We had a blast watching the game last night on TV! Wow, it must have been really cool to be there live. I am enjoying listening to WFAN sports radio this morning and hearing all the passionate fans calling in to talk about it. This sure has turned out to be an amazing season for the Isles!

It was truly one of the best games I have ever been to and probably my favorite since 1993! I was listening to NHL network radio which may be a mistake because too many out of area people have negative comments which only fires me up enough to call to respond lol. Need to listen to Joe and Evan on the fan this morning instead for sure!

I have loved the skinny jean trend since I was first introduced to it in 2006. They are so flattering! I really want a black pair for the season.

That’s awesome about the hockey game and give that guy hell. We did the same when Lebron left the first time for Miami. It wasn’t that he left, it’s the classless way he did it, so I can relate.
