Weekly Workout Recap (Feb 17 – Feb 24)

I really enjoyed this week in workouts!

  • 3 outdoor runs
  • 1 speedy treadmill run
  • 4 Pure Barre workouts

I keep praying that we continue to get through this winter with little to no snow. While it’s been a relatively mild winter in terms of precipitation, March tends to be that tricky month in New York when you think you have made it through the worst and then we get hit with the major snowstorms. So far though, I cannot complain. My running path has not been covered with the usual mounds of snow and ice this season and for that, I have been grateful. Just a little while longer and it’s all about the warm sunshine of spring and summer!

Monday – Run By Time/5 Miles

I ran this workout mostly by time but cooled down to 5 miles.

  • 15 min warm up
  • 20 min 1 min hard/1 min easy
  • cooled down to 5 miles (42 minutes total)

Tuesday – 42 Min Pure Barre

Wednesday – 5 Miles

I was happy to run outside this morning before it snowed a bit later in the day! My plan was to go easy for 3 miles and then pick it up a bit for the last 2 miles.

5 miles

Thursday – 3 Miles Easy/20 Min Pure Barre

The barely two inches of snow had basically melted overnight but it was still a little slushy at various points. I ran easy for 30 minutes and then came home for a quick 20 minute Pure Barre workout.

3 miles

Friday – 49 Min Pure Barre

Saturday – 7 Miles

I went outside thinking I would run for an hour, with the following plan in mind:

3 miles easy + 3 miles increased effort + 1 mile cool down

I definitely wasn’t expecting to feel so sluggish for the first few miles so I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t want to pick up my pace after the third mile. I gave it a try anyway and was pleasantly surprised!  Sometimes even when I think I am feeling tired, I am able to increase my pace which actually wakes me up and makes me feel much better.

7 miles
