Light Week Of Workouts + Days (And Food) At Citifield

Quick look at my workouts from last week before chatting about what I’ve been up to over the last few days!

There’s isn’t a whole lot to say about my workouts from the week since most of my workouts were short and easy. Remember, I pulled my neck really badly last Sunday while stretching when I woke up. I know, pathetic, but it really hurt! Thankfully by Friday, I felt just about normal.

If I inspire you to do anything, I hope it’s to listen to your body and acknowledge when you should push yourself and when to take it easy. There’s a fine line between motivation and understanding when to pull back to rest.

Stretching my neck wasn’t a running injury and after two days wasn’t really more than an annoyance but something inside me said this wasn’t something to mess with so I took it easy. You don’t want to risk causing an actual injury (especially in your spine!) when all you really need is a couple of days to feel better.

Monday – Rest Day

Tuesday – 30 min Elliptical/10 min Lower Body Pure Barre

My neck felt so much better but not 100% so no running yet. 30 minutes easy on the elliptical plus two 5 min lower body Pure Barre workouts – thighs & seat.

Wednesday – 30 Min Elliptical

Thursday – 30 Min Elliptical

I really thought I felt well enough to run but I stopped the treadmill after one minute. While I’m not totally sure that there was a problem, I felt as though it was way too much bouncing and pounding for my sensitive neck. It wasn’t worth it!

Friday – Back To Pure Barre!

I felt normal and ready to try a 50 min Pure Barre workout. It was nice to be back in routine!

Saturday – 8 Miles (outside!)

The sun was shining and I was eager to get outside for a nice run. I think this was my longest run in 3 months! Isn’t that funny coming from me? The girl who used to routinely run 8 miles during the week with longer runs on weekends?!

You can tell in my splits where my mind started to wonder because my pace slowed down. Once I realized I was not focused, I picked up my pace before cooling down for 8 miles total.

Sunday – Pure Barre Pure Results Arms

One of my most favorite Pure Barre workouts right now!

What I’ve Been Up To!

Basically, if I haven’t been eating macaroons for Passover over the last few days, it’s because I’ve been spending my days at Citifield.  I told you that I knew I would be attending a ton of Mets games for my son’s benefit!

I’m not complaining. I’m always down for a good major league sporting event. Citifled (although in my mind it’s still Shea Stadium) is a good time with great food. It’s an easy drive (that’s my passive aggressive knock at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn) and my son really enjoys going to games and making me get there really early for batting practice (passive aggressive knock at my son).

My only minor complaint is that you can’t get milk for your Dunkin Donuts coffee unless you are inside the Delta Club. And maybe the Hyundai Club? The Foxwoods Club doesn’t have milk either.

It was a nice surprise to see the milk in the Delta Club yesterday where I spent a lot of time because it was chilly when the sun was hiding behind the clouds. April baseball here in New York is tricky. It’s still fairly cold and even SNOWING today for the Yankees home opener!

I am happy to report however that Cookie Do has a new flavor this year at Citifield. It’s actually a Grand Slam Special which is a rotating season treat, exclusive to Citifield. This month’s special flavor is mixed up with Oreo’s, chocolate chips, and I think white chocolate chips too. I really liked it!

Stadium food has come such a long way, hasn’t it? If you had told me ten years ago that I would be able to order a customized chopped salad at a sporting event, I wouldn’t have believed you. I had this customized chopped salad the other day while at the Mets game. It was definitely good but could have used avocado. They didn’t offer avocado and I think that they should.

My first box of popcorn for the season happened yesterday. I ate it while walking around the field level.

Next time we are at Citifield (which could really be this week, haven’t decided yet) I have to try one of these new Wowfuls concepts. It’s freshly made waffles in a cone shape (not sure if it’s a hard waffle like a cone though?) and then we can customize it with ice cream and toppings. This guy ordered a nice one so I took a picture for you when he wasn’t looking.

In case you are interested in seeing more about the food at Citifield, my best Citifield post is a What I Ate Wednesday post from the time we sat in the luxury suite seats. That was so much fun.

I hope you had a nice holiday weekend!

Best thing you ate over the weekend?

Which baseball team is local to you? Do you like the food at the stadium? Anything unique or special served there?

Glad your neck is feeling better and you were able to run this weekend!
It’s been a long time since I went to an Orioles game but i don’t remember the stadium having anything good to eat. Maybe I just didnt look around hard enough!

The Dodger stadium is about an hour and a half from my house; they have their own beer specific to the stadium and of course the Dodger dog, which is basically a Costco hot dog, just as yummy but way more expensive 😉

Best thing I ate this weekend was probably an açaí bowl Saturday night for date night.

I noticed they have their own beer here too (I dont drink beer but I did see it!) The yankees have it too. must be a baseball thing because I dont think the islanders have it but now I need to check!

I’m glad your neck is feeling better. That’s the worst place to feel sore in my opinion.

Citi Field looks like they have awesome food options. It’s definitely gone a long way from the typical burgers and hot dogs.
