I love a good survey post! I came across this 25 Random Facts About Me Survey when reading Sara’s blog the other day so I copied a bunch of the questions and answered them today.
So here we go! Random Facts About Me!
Do you make your bed? I absolutely make my bed every morning. Making my bed is part of my routine before I leave the house to run. I don’t think there’s been a day in my adult life that my bed has been left unmade. I wouldn’t feel right about the world leaving my bed a mess. When my son leaves for school, I make his bed too because I can’t rely on him to do it.
Messy bed, messy mind. That’s just how I see things.
The first car that was officially yours? Ahh, my silver two door Honda Civic back in 1996! My parents surprised me with the car parked in the garage which was a really excitement moment in my life. Sometimes I still see that cute two door 1996 Honda Civic on the road and point it out to people and say, hey that was my first car!
Three grocery items you don’t run out of? Honestly, I run out of everything lately because I’ve become that person who HATES the grocery store. Seriously, going to the grocery store is such a chore for me right now. The items I try not to run out of though are coffee, peanut butter and oatmeal.
When did you start doing your own laundry? So this is really embarrassing but I will be honest. I didn’t do my own laundry until I was 25. I KNOW. Actually, rather than be embarrassed, I consider myself lucky.
If I could still bring my laundry to my mother, I would. Okay fine, sometimes often I bring her my nicer white shirts so that I don’t ruin them.
If you could, would you go back to high school again? For sure! I loved high school and never really wanted to grow up. Although I think I would like to go back to college right now even more than high school.
Guilty TV pleasure? Where do I begin? The Kardashians, 90 Day Fiancé, Younger, Girlfriends Guide To Divorce and lately, Siesta Key… See I told you, I never really wanted to grow up. But come on, how good is 90 Day Fiancé right now? The whole new Before the 90 days show that just started? Please tell me you watch it?
Sweet or salty? You know that chocolate cake is my love language.
However, I do go salty sometimes. Lately I am all about Mexican food and crave jalapeños like nobody’s business.
I keep thinking about my recent dinner at Dos Caminos and really want to get back there for those vegetarian taco bowls.
Do you consider yourself strong? Physically? Absolutely not. Do not call me to help you lift or move anything. Emotionally though, people say I am really strong. I am not so sure about that but it’s what they tell me.
Something people do, physically, that drives you crazy? So here’s the thing. I have a very low tolerance for people so it doesn’t take much to annoy me. However, I cannot handle listening to anyone chew near me. Do you hear yourself? Please stop it already. It’s nauseating.
Favorite childhood game? I was never a huge fan of playing board games (and puzzles are BORING) but I loved to play Barbies all day, every day. Do girls still play with their Barbies? I hope so.
Would you go on a reality show? Definitely. My life would make an excellent reality show. YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I would just need my friends to be on board and I am not sure everyone in my life would go for it unless we were promised big money.
First thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up? I wanted to be Tom Hanks from the movie Big and get paid for playing with toys. In college, I majored in marketing and had two amazing internships in the toy industry (including one with Mattel which was a really big deal to me). After college however, I fell into the promotions industry instead because the job offers I received in the toy industry just weren’t paying enough to make it worth it.
No matter how much money you have or don’t have, what are you an absolute snob about? Easy question to answer. Skincare and makeup. And shoes and handbags.
There’s just no skimping in the skincare department if you want my opinion. I’m banking on the 20 years of investment in serums, exfoliators and moisturizers to continue to keep me looking young. I started a true quality skincare routine when I was 20 so hopefully this investment means I won’t look 40 until my 50th birthday. 🙂
I would say I am snobby about weekly manicures too but they are really cheap here in New York. There’s a nail salon (or two or three) on every block so the pricing is super competitive. Right now, I pay SIX DOLLARS for a manicure. I know, right? Crazy cheap. Please don’t tell the owner of the nail place I go to weekly that he can probably charge more.
Your turn! What was your first car?
What are you really snobby about?
Do you make your bed? Would your life make a good reality show? What grocery items do you never run out of?
My first car (not that I own since I still don’t own my car but will soon) was a 1997 Ford Expedition and if I could drive that car now I would. It was huge and amazing and no one would ever try to cut me off since it was so big. I never run out of eggs, peanut butter or chicken. I wish I lived somewhere where a manicure is $6 that would be amazing lol.
Have a great Monday 🙂
isn’t it so cheap?! I hope they never change the price.
Bed making is non negotiable! Omg..Even my kids make their beds a few days a week and I go in after and fix if I have to. I don’t understand when people say they will get back in it later so why make it the morning!!!
My first car was an old one of my grandmas..think it was a pontiac..it had 4 wheels and got me where I needed to go!
Have a great day.
my son had no idea how to properly make a bed when he went to sleep away camp. it was pretty funny.
I haven’t had a first car yet….
Oh and I’m kind of snobby about clean bathrooms; I just really like clean bathrooms. 🙂
And I love learning more about you; it’s so amazing how God created us all so unique; it really speaks to His glory!

I like clean bathrooms too. I need everything clean actually otherwise I feel like a total mess mentally.
I’m jealous of your manicure prices. I’d even get my nails done for that.
Also I love puzzles and I rarely make my bed. That being said, my kitchen has to be clean at all times…most times and definitely free of clutter or I get anxious.

manicures are so cheap here! it’s the one thing in NY that never went up in price. I pay now what I paid 25 years ago. they never bump it up! and, any salon that charges a lot usually doesn’t get the customers because there are so many salons to choose from.
Ohhh this is so great! I think the world of you so I love learning new stuff. My first car was an ’87 Pontiac Firefly, bright blue. I really should have invested in skin care early on. I did a lot of tanning in my teen years because I had acne and the sun helped with it, and then it became a bit of an addiction and I spent a lot of time in tanning beds in my twenties. SO DUMB. I have so much sun damage, and I had spots removed off of my nose (the most humbling experience of my life) and my neck. Now I wear sunscreen every single day on my face and my neck. But man, if I could go back in time…

I used to sit in the sun too in my late teens/college years but I’m so fair skinned that I always had sunblock on so I didn’t burn too bad. hopefully it saves me from wrinkling! I think one time I went with my friend tanning but I was so afraid of the UV stuff that I sat so far away from the thing (I think it was for my face) that I didn’t even get tan. lol
Ooh, I’ve been wanting to try Dos Caminos for ages, and this just reminded me of that! Do you think you could maybe do a post on your skincare routine?

I make my bed ALMOST always, and the three things i never run out of are oatmeal, peanut butter, and almond milk (we’re almost the same) 😉

I love Dos Caminos- definitely go there! I’ve done several skincare and beauty products posts but I do have another one sitting in my drafts so you just motivated me to finish it!
This is such a fun post!! My first car was a standard green Subaru Outback… so cute 😉
And I always make my bed!! I feel like I can’t start my day until my bed is made/apartment is tidied up.
I can’t start my day without straightening up either!
Fun post! I still have my first car – it is a 2006 Honda Pilot that I got the summer before I turned 17. I still drive it now and it’s our mountain car. Hondas last forever.

I am snobby about alcohol. Even in college, I despised cheap beer, that vague “red blend” wine, and avoided cheap vodka. I like craft beer, cabernet sauvignon, and a good gin or whiskey. If I’m going to drink, I want it to taste good.

cheap wine is so gross. even I, who hardly drinks, can taste how bad it is when it’s cheap!
Yes to making my bed every day! On the days when I go to the gym Rob is still sleeping and many days he doesn’t make it. I still make it when I get home from work even though its like 7pm and Im going to sleep in an hour.

So jealous of your manicure prices! Ive been paying $13 lately.

I would do that too! even if I was about to go to bed, I would need to make it neat to then mess it up. I always think of you when I get my nails done for so cheap. can you believe $6? it’s even better than the usual $7 or $8 around here.
This is awesome. First car: red Jetta that none of my friends could drive because it was stick shift. And I never make my bed. You would be disgusted. But in my defense it’s because Jody gets up almost TWO HOURS after me.

Jamie@TheMomGene recently posted…The Moment Our House Became “Handicap-Accessible”
ohh a stick shift. yeah, I wouldn’t have been able to drive that either. my friends and I used to switch cars all of the time so a stick shift would have been an issue for me! HA
I absolutely never make my bed, but Vegas was in the Navy so most days she goes back to make it. I tease her relentlessly because she’ll do that but will NOT put away her laundry.
Snobby… I’m super snobby about food and wine. Why waste a meal?!

Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table recently posted…Chocolate Avocado Cookies [Recipe]
I hate putting away the laundry! I definitely procrastinate on that one 🙂
I am 100% with you on people and chewing. DRIVES ME NUTS! I also agree with you on “messy bed, messy mind” – if my bed isn’t made, you know I am all over the place

Sara @ Oats & Rows recently posted…Birthday Weekend Recap
don’t people hear themselves chewing so loud?! lol
My first car was a 1991 white convertible Mercury Capri, and I paid for it all by myself when I was 16. It wast the best!
I’m snobby about my shampoo & conditioner, and what I eat 🙂
I make my bed 95% of the time. My life is pretty predictable and would not make for a super interesting reality show. I never run out of coffee, Greek yogurt, milk, and ice cream.
