A lululemon outlet store opened here on Long Island and I still haven’t gone to check it out. Sarah told me about the opening weeks ago so what is taking me so long, I am not sure.
Remember how I used to go to Friendly’s every so often for the 12-scoop Crowd Pleaser sundae? Well we haven’t shared one of these sundaes in almost a year now so my son and I decided that we will get one to celebrate the last day of Hebrew school in May.
How awesome is this sundae? This one is from last April when we last shared it at Friendly’s, after the last regular season Islanders home game. Feels like yesterday.
We like to order this Crowd Pleaser Sundae to celebrate something and the last day of Hebrew school is a huge deal worth celebrating. Especially for me, the mother who has dragged her son to the darn class at least once a week, if not twice a week some years since the third grade.
Did you hear about the guy who legally changed his name to Bacon Double Cheeseburger? We can’t stop talking about it around my house. Not only do we laugh about it, we keep trying to come up with our food names of choice should we ever be crazy enough to legally change our name.
Here’s my list, tell me what you think:
Miss Caramel Latte (Isn’t Caramel a pretty first name?!)
Miss Boston Cream-Pie (I thought the hyphen was cute — Ms. Cream-Pie)
Miss Chocolate Cupcake (Call me CC for short)
I haven’t taken many pictures of anything this week but while finishing my run the other day I noticed MapMyRun updated itself and now displays all important details on the main screen. And even better, when I snapped this photo, it says I was going pretty fast.
I ignore the calorie counts by the way. I don’t even know what I weigh, I don’t even know what weight MapMyRun is set for, and, I don’t believe the counts are accurate anyway.
My son came home from school the other day to tell me that he got in trouble in English class and won’t be allowed to use the computers for a week. He was caught searching the web instead of doing his English assignment on the computer.
Of course I freaked, worrying what the heck he was searching on a public school computer, didn’t I raise him better than this, was I not convincing when I said if you google the wrong thing the police, bomb squad and SWAT teams will show up with guns at our door and take him away.
Then he told me what he was googling….Sit down for this…are you sitting? Okay.
Super Tuesday and the latest news regarding the presidential debates.
Not only am I a proud parent, I am questioning the teacher’s disciplinary actions. I understand it was English class, I understand he should focus on the task at hand but come on, how many kids (let alone adults) care about our country’s politics?

A 12 scoop sundae – which flavors of ice cream would you choose? 12 different ones? Double scoops of 6 flavors? Tell me!
What would you change your name to if you could?
Are you shopping for spring/summer workout clothes yet?
Those food names are too funny! Not sure if I could pick 12 different types of ice cream, so I would probably double up on my favorites. I havent done any spring shopping yet, which is probably good since it’s still cold and we have snow coming tonight!

I am trying to ignore the super cold temps today and the snow in the forecast for the morning! I am looking ahead to next week where I am seeing 70 by Wednesday!
Bacon cheeseburger? Seriously? I cannot even go there!

Fun fact: my name is very similar to food already. Russian calls raspberry – “malina”, so if I should change my name I would have been necessary to replace only one letter in my real name – Marina 😀
that’s so cool about your name!
Actually, Caramel -is- a pretty first name. I wonder if any celebrities have named their kids that 😆 And I don’t even know that I could name 12 different ice cream flavours since I’m pretty basic and usually stick to vanilla… can I go the topping route instead?!
Amanda @ .running with spoons. recently posted…so many feels, upcoming travels, and when did that happen?!? (ToL #172)
this sundae allows 6 toppings so sure, you can choose the toppings.
I love the googling! He is way smarter than me because my google searches usually include how old Leo DiCaprio is and how to spell frittata 🙂 And I miss Friendly’s! It might have been the most fun job I’ve every had lol 🙂

I think of you every time I see the Commack friendlys! I love that you worked there
I like Caramel Latte because you could shorten that to Cara or Mel. Def my fave.

see, it’s a great name. I like the nicknames you came up with.
That’s so funny what your son was searching for! Forget porn or illegal things- now they’re not allowed to stay informed about politics?! He probably doesn’t want to know what the results are anyway 😉 Please go to the lulu outlet! I want to see what it’s like and there’s none around me!

I still haven’t gotten to the lululemon outlet. Ugh, maybe next week!
Seriously he got in trouble with the googling? That’s insane! Ice cream sounds like the perfect way to celebrate the end of Hebrew classes. I took three semesters of Hebrew in college and definitely treated myself when it was all over! And I love the food names, especially chocolate cupcake.

oh wow, I didn’t know you took Hebrew classes in college! it’s definitely challenging.
Right now we’re trying to name baby number 2, and it’s going terribly. My husband will only suggest really improbable names, like Juan Pablo. No one in our family is Spanish or Latin. His most recent suggestion was to name the baby Morgan and rename ME Hugo…

I think that’s so funny!
Wow, that sundae looks amazing! Hmm… if I got a 12 scoop sundae I would probably go peanut butter and chocolate themed for all the ice cream. 😀

great combination of flavors if you ask me.
OMG that sundae looks amazing!!! I’d probably do some sort of combination of cookie dough, cookies n cream, chocolate peanut butter, and cake batter ice cream.

my kind of flavors!
I can’t believe he got in trouble for that. Then again in 7th grade I got in trouble for not having my mom sign one of my history tests – I’d gotten 100% as I did the whole year (even then I was a history nerd). She taught me to forge her signature afterwards so she didn’t have to deal with that anymore!

I’m actually laughing unreasonably hard at the name change thing. I have to text Jason (my ex) to see if he knows about this as it’s totally something he’d call himself. I love my name right now. Suzy Slane sounds incredibly badass. I need a black pleather catsuit.

isn’t it so funny? I can’t believe the guy really changed his name to that!
12 flavors is so many! I would choose peanut butter, cookie dough, mint chip, cookies and cream, some kind of chocolate, birthday cake, and I don’t even know what else!
Shannon recently posted…Lemon Artichoke Simmer Sauce
I can’t share a sundae with you if there is mint chip involved! but my son likes that flavor 🙂
I didn’t know anyone else liked Friendlys as much as I do. I think they are so underrated!
I also can’t believe someone legally changed their name to that…ugh why? Now I’m not going to be able to stop talking about it LOL.

love friendlys! I grew up going there every week! so many have closed but luckily there are plenty left to go to when we want ice cream.
Your son is the cutest. That is hilarious. There are SO many more interesting things to google and that’s what he chooses? hahah a sign you raised him well. I’m interested to hear what you think of the lululemon outlet! I’m so excited to go next week.
Oh, and I got a goldstone gift certificate yesterday for doing the most after hours requests at work and naturally thought of you.
Sarah @pickyrunner recently posted…See you later
I wanted coldstone yesterday but never got there!
That ice cream looks heavenly!! I’d get 6 double scoops: chocolate chip cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, peanut butter cup, red velvet and birthday cake ice cream 🙂
