Chinese food at Christmas time because that’s what Jewish people do. It’s a fact.
While passing (actually, being passed) in city traffic by the horse-drawn carriages of Central Park, I realized I have never actually taken one of these buggy rides and I really don’t think I ever will. I feel bad for the horsies.
I pondered where I will park my car the morning of the Fred Lebow half marathon (east side or west side of the park?) as I stared up at these buildings overlooking Central Park.
I am obsessed right now with Arman’s grain free english muffin recipe which means I have been making one every single day and I don’t see the trend stopping.
He has a few versions of grain free english muffin recipes but here’s the one I have been making which is included in his latest recipe round-up.
The best part about having Red Mango on Saturday was the fresh berries in my cup, especially the fresh blueberries.
Deep dish meatball pizza for everyone but me.
I was not disappointed though because this is the best whole wheat veggie pizza ever created. (Villa Monte for local readers).
My running path is usually covered in snow by now but not this year and I am not complaining.
I noticed this New York City Marathon poster hanging in my parents’ basement yesterday which I don’t think I had ever noticed before but maybe that’s because I didn’t really care about my dad’s marathons when I was younger.
Sunday dinner with the fam is becoming a regular thing although yesterday was more about my dad’s birthday so I brought an ice cream party in a bag for dessert.
Can I just tell you that this simple vanilla/chocolate/strawberry ice cream combo from Breyer’s is one of my favorites right now?
When we got home last night, I started putting our stuff together for our little trip to Boston and made sure to remember my Hello Kitty shower cap. I never travel without it.
I assume that I will pop in with a post or two while in Boston but just in case, feel free to follow me on Instagram 🙂

Best thing you ate over the weekend?
Favorite ice cream flavor?
Are you working this week or taking a few days off?
I think I normally park on the east side but of course can’t remember now! It’s always been easy though so no worries 🙂 I’ve done the horse and buggy and you’re not missing anything! Have a great trip! I have to start packing for mine..

I wish we could car pool!
Even Michigan didnt have snow on the ground this year, which was crazy! Every time I have been there the ground is covered with snow and ice.

I am sad I didnt get any NY pizza this year! There’s nothing like it:)
I am working today and probably tomorrow and then taking the rest of the week off. I hope you have a great trip!

you need to come here for pizza and a manicure soon. seriously.
Enjoy your trip to Boston! Ryan has the whole week off so I’m taking it off as well from blogging and freelancing. I always feel so bad for those horses also! I rode in a carriage in St Louis once and it wasn’t that fun either—too bumpy!

I am totally working this week but our hours are shorter so we have some time to relax 🙂 My favorite ice cream flavor is peanut butter cookies and cream. SO GOOD!

I WANT ALL THE FOODS.
Seriously. I want them all.
Don’t get me started on the horses pulling the carriages in CP. It is a real sore spot for me.
But on a happy note–YUM
Born and raised in/around NYC, and have plenty of horseback riding friends, but something about being stuck in the city and hitched to a carriage makes me feel too bad for them ever to do a buggy ride either.

Have fun in Boston! That’s one of my favorite cities that I’ve ever visited. This week I have off! Thank goodness for saving my vacation days 🙂

I am working but it will be quiet so lots of time to catch up on fun blogs 🙂 Thanks for that English Muffin link – that DOES look like a game-changer. (btw and completely random- I agree with Michele’s post about you being so creative with your run workouts. definitely inspiring me to change it up in order to keep things interesting!).
Aw, I am so glad! And you guys are inspiring me to come up with more of those random and fun running workouts!
My favorite thing I ate over the weekend was leftover Syrian food my Grammy made during Christmas. I can’t get enough of it. Favorite ice cream flavor would have to be cookies n cream. I actually kept up with my runs last week but wasn’t able to fit in a longer run since we’ve been running all over Maryland to visit family. I’ve been enjoying the warmer temps for my runs, but I wish it had been a little cooler on Christmas Day!

So much good food. Have fun in Boston!!
The best thing I ate over the weekend was a mozzarella chicken pasta I made for dinner last night. I also feel bad for the horses you see in the city doing those things. I hope you have a fun time in Boston! We are getting snow toady here in WI. I knew the unseasonably warm weather wouldn’t last forever

Ugh, I hope it doesn’t suddenly start to snow a lot here! I have liked this warmer winter.
I’m with you on the horse carriage thing! I saw them riding around in downtown Chicago last week and they looked so sad.
Best thing I ate over the weekend was this chickpea/lentil stew thing my friend cooked up in her crockpot. She used a Whole Foods recipe and added a bunch of spices to give it an extra kick. Perfect for the cold weather we’ve finally been getting!

I owe you an email. I’m so behind on life. you’re making me so excited for my pizza at lunch. Also have SO much fun in Boston!

I am behind on life too!
I seriously can’t believe that you guys don’t have any snow! That’s insanity. We’re buried here, although I feel like we do have a little bit less than usual. And I’m totally taking it easy this week. Real life doesn’t start again until after New Year’s 😛
It was the warmest December ever here – average temp was like 50 degrees.
Confession- Part of the reason why I wasn’t in NYC for Christmas was because of the infamous ‘cold’ I’d experienced over the years but now I’m kicking myself!
I was VERY envious of your instagram picture featuring all the fix-ins the other day :p Glad you liked the muffin 😀 You tried one out with chia seeds right? Gah, that feels like forever ago!

Been making the English muffin every day when I am home! Love it. I am making the egg one now with the coconut flour. It’s really so so good.
That veggie pizza looks awesome! My favorite ice cream is cookie dough!

Holy balls- that deep dish pizza. *Drooling.*
Ice cream sundae party in a bag is a genius idea. Your dad is a lucky man.
Happy New Year!
