It’s a good thing today is Thursday because putting together a post that flows was not about to happen this morning.
Between juggling my son being home for a few days as I attempted to work while simultaneously trying to become a blog savvy tech person (I am not and never will be but I will keep trying/complaining about it until things work the way I want them to), I am not exactly flowing with coherent words unless I am typing in a live chat.
I have been doing a lot of technological live chats this week. I don’t understand any of the computer lingo they type at me but I try my best to pretend and shoot big words back at them.
And with that warning, here are my thoughts for today:
1- I can’t recall the last time I had greek yogurt. It’s easily been a month, if not more, which is funny when you consider that it was a staple in morning routine for a really long time.
2 – This headband from Lululemon always falls off of my head when I run. I don’t understand.
3 – My friend Robyn went to Hawaii recently and brought me back this Hello Kitty bag!
Robyn and I met back in junior year of college. I first spotted her in my finance class because she was using a Hello Kitty pencil. I walked over and told her I liked her pencil and here we are, 16 years later.
4- If I ever take a break from trying to deactivate plug-ins and optimize photos (don’t ask, I don’t know what I just said either), I have grand plans for making my chocolate covered caramel apples again.
It’s been a while since I made my own and I even picked up the caramel at Target BUT then I decided I need to make the healthified chocolate covered caramel apples which involve blended up dates. I don’t have dates nor do I have time to go buy dates today but it’s on my list.
I will be following this recipe and will let you know how they come out.
5- I have a few meetings today in the city and one of them is taking place over lunch at my favorite restaurant, The Smith.
I haven’t been to The Smith in a while but that doesn’t stop me from thinking about their roasted brussels sprouts.
How amazing, right? Click here for the flashback post.
6 – My son’s Bar Mitzvah is exactly one year from today (seriously?!) which means 2016 is a leap year because his party will be a Saturday night.
7 – Last night was not supposed to be pizza night but it became pizza night. We used the Trader Joe’s frozen organic whole wheat pizza crust for the first time and like it much better than the whole wheat dough that they sell in the refrigerated case.
And with that I am off to get my busy day started. Be sure to check out what everyone else is thinking about today 🙂

Do you like candy apples or chocolate covered caramel apples?
Is there a food you recently and randomly stopped eating?
Do you make your own pizza crust and if not, which do you buy when you make pizza at home?
Oh, I hear you on technological things – I have no clue of them and tend to call my brother who works in the branche when I have trouble with my laptop. Like I currently do …
We make our own pizza crust so it’s usually a weekend meal as it takes too much time elsewise :). Whole-wheat crusts aren’t available in stores here but I could totally see myself using them if they were.

I always need to call for help with the tech stuff – so complicated for me!
Optimizing photos makes me want to punch infants. I hope you are through with that soon!

Ha, I know, the worst.
I want those brussels sprouts now! I can only do the bangbusters from lulu, the other headbands fall off.

Agreed, the bang busters are the best ones from Lululemon.
It definitely is weird when things you ate every single day suddenly vanish from your diet!

right?! It guess it happens to us all
The Smith is my favorite place to have brunch in the city! I recently just stopped eating cereal again. I got back on a cereal kick and would plow through a full box in two days. Totally bad habit. I do make my own pizza crust fresh each time we make pizza. Makes it so much better!!

Love the smith!
I have never had a chocolate covered caramel apple. A fact that may need to be rectified. 😉 Those look amazing!
Thursday is our pizza night. I almost always make my own dough.

You must make them or buy one somewhere, so good!
Hey, we had pizza night last night! 🙂 We were in Idaho, and we went to a hotel… Well, we decided that pizza would make a nice dinner. So we ran about 1.5 miles to get it, then carried it back… It was a pretty fun adventure. Those apples look really good! I’ve never made caramel apples before!

pizza night is always a good time!
LOVE TJ’s frozen pizza crusts! I do think they are better than the refrigerated dough, too. I’ve been taking a break from my usually morning smoothie and I don’t know why. I miss them and must bring them back!

Isn’t it funny how we stop eating certain things for no real reason?
I need to try that pizza crust. I’ve used the refrigerated whole wheat one before and it was delicious but that looks amazing! Hope your son is feeling better!!

definitely try the frozen crust, we really liked it.
I LOVE the brussels sprouts at the Smith. It’s pricey so I don’t go too often, but sometimes if I want to do a nice meal before Lincoln Center 🙂

It is definitely a bit pricey but once in a while, it’s worth it for sure, especially for the Brussels sprouts.
I love the TJs pizza crust! I am not a fan of candy apples. Caramel apples are okay, but only if they are cut into slices, otherwise they are too much work to eat.

I thought about making the apples in slices rather than on sticks for this reason.
Chocolate covered apples are on the list to make this weekend. FO SHO.

Yum, I must make them too!
Headbands that don’t stay on bother me so much! The only ones I find that work for me since I have super fine hair are some skinny grippy Champion bands from Target. I make a whole wheat crust for pizza – and now I really want to make homemade pizza!

I don’t know what it is about this headband in particular, slides off every time. I wont wear it anymore — btw, not sure if my comment posted today, was having trouble with it freezing as I was trying to type.
I am anxiously awaiting news of those healthified caramel apples! Caramel apples are one of my all time favorite fall treats, but I haven’t had one in years. And chocolate covered caramel apples sound insanely good!

I love Trader Joe’s whole wheat pizza dough. We are actually making homemade pizza tomorrow night!

I have to buy it again! We really liked it.
Mmm, pizza night sounds pretty perfect for tonight. I may have to make that happen!!
The tech stuff is way beyond me too. I hope you get it all worked out soon though.
