Oh hello. Good morning. I am sitting here sipping this coffee…
I only bought it because the donut on the box tempted me but it does not in any way taste like a Dunkin Donuts chocolate donut. It does however taste exactly like Green Mountain’s Donut House Chocolate Glazed Donut K-Cups which means I simply paid more money for the Dunkin Donuts version.
Anyway, my workouts from the week — I changed some things around to accommodate my schedule and the fact that I was sore from kickboxing last Sunday but other than that, I tried not to let the heat and humidity get to me too much!
Monday – 6 Miles & Yoga for hips, hamstrings, back
I skipped Pure Barre because I was a little sore and went with an easy run followed by the only yoga I can tolerate. Remember Michele’s yoga home practice guide? Here’s the link again, I think it’s a great resource.
Tuesday- 8 Miles & Pure Barre Mile High DVD (only the warm-up & abs)
I felt like I wanted to do a Pure Barre DVD but didn’t want to do the legs and seat portion since I was still slightly sore from kickboxing <- wow, right?!
I did the warm-up/stretching/abs section and then headed out for a hot and humid run.
Wednesday – Pure Barre Online Workout (65 Minutes)
I took a rest day from running and any form of cardio for no other reason than I didn’t feel like it. I didn’t want to overdo my runs and the elliptical seemed pointless. Sometimes cross training makes sense to me and sometimes I don’t see the need.
Thursday – Pure Barre Mile High DVD & Progression Run
I didn’t even mean to run a progression run but it happened on its own! Pretty exciting, especially considering how hot and humid it was outside.
6 miles with a cool down mile at the end.
Friday – 13.1 Miles average pace @ 8:56
I switched my long run days so that it wasn’t on my mind tonight/I could sleep a little later tomorrow.
It wasn’t nearly as humid as it had been but wow was I thirsty. You know how during races you start envisioning water stations before you actually see them? That was me today towards the end of my run which is not like me at all during routine runs.
I was fixated on the thought of watermelon during the last few miles and couldn’t wait to get home for some.
Honestly, I didn’t feel very well for the next several hours. I had that cloudy fuzzy headachy nauseous feeling that was directly related to my hydration level. Even though I rehydrated plenty and salted my food, I must have failed in properly hydrating the day before this run. I drink so much water all of the time that I am really not totally sure why this happened but I need to pay more attention in advance of long runs in the summer I suppose.
Saturday – 7.50 Miles at the Beach
We ended up running in the morning on the boardwalk in Long Beach. I ran more miles than I thought I would but because I had kept the pace easy, I felt great and could have kept going. I stopped for water often (even though I wasn’t thirsty – I was just afraid of not feeling well like yesterday).
We didn’t get to the beach until a little after 8:00 am so I was nervous about how hot and sunny it would be but it really wasn’t bad!
Sunday – Rest Day
