I am actually surprised that it is Wednesday already. Where is the week going and really, more importantly, where is the summer going?
We already started with the school supply shopping last night at Target because I always loved loading up on the school on new notebooks, pens and crayons but I think as my son gets older and school gets more involved, my excitement turns more into dread (early wake-ups, homework, projects and messy binders).
Actually, I don’t wish to talk about school right now.
Let’s take a look at what I ate yesterday instead.
Breakfast #1:
Some oatmeal with cinnamon, banana, berries and a little peanut butter plus coffee before my workout.
Breakfast #2:
I go through fresh berries these days like nobody’s business.
Oatmeal with lots of berries, Skoop B-Strong and peanut butter (stirred in after I took the picture).
I had to be in the city mid-morning so I packed a snack/mini-lunch just in case I got hungry/stuck in traffic.
One slice of cinnamon raisin ezekiel bread with peanut butter, a few banana slices and blueberries. I fold the little sandwich in half and wrap it in aluminum foil. Perfect portable filling mini-meal. I much prefer things like this over bars and packaged snacks when I can help it.
I got into the city super quick (no traffic!) so once I parked my car, I walked my way to a Dunkin Donuts for another cup of coffee before heading up to the office.
Lunch:
I was done with my meeting around lunch time and decided to head out of the city rather than stay for lunch to avoid traffic.
I picked at my packed snack while I drove knowing I would make a smoothie bowl as soon as I got home.
In the mix:
- Ice
- Spinach
- Frozen berries (blueberries, cherries, blackberries, raspberries)
- Cooked, cold oatmeal
- Skoop B-Strong
- PB2
I added peanut butter on top 🙂
Dinner:
I am pretty sure this is the first time I am sharing a salad picture from Chipotle here on the blog since yesterday was my first dinner there in I can’t remember how long.
It’s not that I don’t like Mexican food, I just never crave it. My son wanted to go to Chipotle which was fine with me because in the summer, I don’t feel like cooking as much during the week, so I ordered a salad which contained black beans, brown rice, corn, fajita vegetables and guacamole.
I actually just saw on the news that there are two men currently making headlines for eating at Chipotle every day for 100 days. I am a creature of habit like that, I respect it.
Dessert:
I have a fruit addiction lately which isn’t a bad thing, just sometimes an expensive thing if you don’t watch for the specials.
I picked up these gigantic granny smith apples at The Fresh Market the other day which is exciting for me because I love dicing up a big apple at night, sprinkling it with cinnamon and then dipping in some peanut butter with a side of chocolate chips.
Only I forgot to take a picture of the peanut butter part. And the part about the chocolate chips. I think I was too taken back by the amount of apple slices I yielded from cutting such a giant apple.
Be sure to check out what everyone else is eating today!
WIAW- Since when do I have Chipotle for dinner?! #wiaw #Chipotle #recenteats Click To Tweet***************
If you could eat anywhere 100 days in a row, what place would you choose? It’s a toss up between Red Mango and The Cheesecake Factory for me!
Favorite type of apple? Do you eat apples plain or always with nut butter?
Have you started the school supply shopping yet even though it’s early?
I’m with you on all the fresh berries! I can’t get enough! And your salad looks delicious from Chipotle! That’s exactly the same that I get when I go!

I really liked the salad, maybe I will go back again soon rather than wait a few years lol
If we are talking chain restaurants, I would go with panera. Endless options.

See now that was a very smart approach to answering this question! Love it.
That first paragraph about school got me nervous too! Not ready yet at all! Good move getting in and out of the city quickly, to me that’s a very productive day. And there’s a chipotle really close to my house yet it’s never the right time for it for some reason!

Chipotle is down the block and Moe’s is the across the street and I never go lol….When I am in and out of the city like nothing it is definitely a pleasure and considered productive! Yesterday was terrific. It’s days like that where schlepping to the city isn’t a shlep at all.
I really don’t know if there is anywhere I would want to eat for 100 days in a row! I love gala apples, and I definitely prefer to cut them up and eat them with PB. I never think to turn to them as a nighttime snack though!

OMG it’s my standard nighttime snack for three years now. So that’s more than 100 days in a row. Ha —try it at night, I think you will love it.
I love pink lady apples the best normally, but I will eat any apple as long as it is crunchy and too sour!

Same as me! That’s exactly how I like my apples.
HAHA our love for huge ass apples is awesome! I only buy big apples. And when I see huge blueberries or grapes that’s a plus too! 🙂
The apples I bought today are easily the size of two or three in one lol
I love chipotle! I think I could eat there for 100 days straight. Or maybe the Whole Foods salad bar if that’s an option 🙂 I don’t have any kids but I always loved going back to school shopping growing up. I liked school as a kid and I would get excited when a new year was starting 🙂
Yes! The Whole Foods food bar! If it were free that is 🙂
Ahhhh.. school! Although some days I really miss it. 😉 Two of the kids get pre-ordered school supplies so I don’t have to go out and shop for them but the older three need to get their lists and start shopping soon before it gets too hectic in the stores. Maybe when it’s smokin hot out next we can go shopping in the air conditioning and get it over with!

So I never preorder the supplies because I am nuts and like to go to do it myself lol
I seriously admire you for driving into the city!!! Chipotle is getting meehh for me these days- I like their meat and guac and that’s it!

Ha! Some days I fly into the city and some days, the traffic is just killer. A real test of patience!
How funny that we both have Chipotle in our WIAW posts today!!

So so sooooo random for me!
Favorite apples = Pink Lady. I also like Jazz, Braeburn, Granny Smith, and some of the heirloom NY kinds like Baldwins. Yes, I’m an apple fanatic – I definitely eat at least one every day, and in winter when there isn’t all the other fresh fruit it’s more like 2-3.

Me and you both!
I could totally eat pizza 100 days in a row. Some hot oil, some veggies… I’d be one happy lady! Best type of apple is Granny smith – with honey, PB2 and cinnamon. Best way to start my day! : )

I think granny smith is my all time favorite too.
Hundred days in a row? Grilled chicken salad. Or bagels. Or pizza. Actually, I probably have eaten all of those things pretty close to that many days in a row. I just like what I like!

Hahaha- creature of habit just like me.
I love peanut butter and apples!! Gala and fuji and pink lady are my faves – but I rarely have one i don’t like (except Red Delicious).

I love school supplies – love that Target already has them and I want them all 🙂 (for me, even though I’m not in school …)
AND I would go for anything Lebanese for 100 days in a row. Hummus. Tabbouleh. etc. Though CCF is a great choice- so many options!

I hate red delicious too! I don’t even like golden delicious. Not crisp or sweet enough.
If you love your fresh berries.. I would highly recommend NEVER moving to Kuwait. From how much you eat of them, it’ll most likely cost you your savings + retirement $$$.
OMG I can only imagine, considering how high the prices can get here. I guess you eat a lot of frozen fruit?
If it were an option, I would definitely be consuming sushi for every meal every single day! I prefer crisp pink lady apples, and I have this thing where I either have to eat them whole by themselves, or sliced with nut butter. I can’t just slice them and eat them plain ;P.

I love pink lady apples, and I love sushi too!
so much fruit! now i’m craving something juicy.

I crave fruit so much in the summer. So refreshing!
Great eats! I have to say I haven’t been to Chipotle in a while…My husband LOVES it and I’m sure if he was here with me he’d be all over it. They built one {finally} close to my parents so I’m sure I will get my fill when he comes to visit!

They are popping up on every corner!
I could definitely do Chipotle for 100 days, so I kind of can’t believe that you don’t go there more often. The only reason I don’t is because the closest one to me is probably something like 1000 miles 😆

It is strange that I don’t go there or even to Moe’s – both places are close to my house. I don’t know, I just don’t care either way, but it’s good!
It’s nice to see another Meredith in the blogging world! And one that like Dunkin Donuts Coffee, girl after my own heart! If I could eat anywhere for 100 days in a row, it would be Portillos! Chicago hotdogs at their finest!
Meredith is such a rare name, isn’t it?!
Ah, to be a child again getting to buy new school supplies … and a side of stickers for good measure :).

Your giant apples remind me of the 1 lb+ ones I got at a Farmer’s Market earlier this year. I used to like Granny Smith but not anymore now as I’ve become too sensitive to their acidity. It’s hard/impossible to pick a favourite apple but at the moment I really like Jonagored and Elstar.

Sometimes the granny smith apples can be too tart for me but for the most part, I just love them!
