Friday night sushi for dinner is the best way to start the weekend.
Especially when it’s all you can eat so you keep ordering more. And more.
My son talked me into Cold Stone after dinner even though I was extremely full and didn’t want to overdo it the night before my long run.
I skipped the waffle bowl (which means I was really full!) and went with chocolate fudge brownie yogurt mixed with chocolate chips, hot fudge and whipped cream.
Normally I order a vanilla based flavor but chocolate was calling my name.
After my long run Saturday morning, we made waffles with coconut flour because I am currently making everything with coconut flour.
The original plan was to go to the beach for the rest of the day on Saturday but then I saw on instagram that the Islanders were holding an open to the public scrimmage so…
It was totally freezing but totally fun to experience hockey in the summer!
I followed it up with my favorite frozen lunch.
Apparently, as I assemble this post, it was a frozen treat of a weekend.
We were headed to a last-minute barbecue Saturday night and on the way to pick up dessert to bring to the hosts, I felt the need to stop at 16 Handles to satisfy my own immediate desire for something sweet.
If that wasn’t enough, Sunday afternoon featured more frozen yogurt from a fabulous new-to-me place which we found by accident called the Berry Good Yogurt Café.
Not only was the frozen yogurt terrific (seriously, so much better than your average self-serve shop) but they had refrigerated bakery cases filled with these ridiculous chocolate-covered delicacies!
You can’t imagine our excitement to have landed upon this gem of a store.
We were in the town of Patchogue and had already left one restaurant due to poor service and less-than-appealing looking food so finding ourselves here was really exciting.
Gigantic chocolate-covered strawberries, truffles, assorted chocolate crème pies and the most creative chocolate-covered Twinkies, Devil Dogs and fudge cakes on sticks.
We ended up with a peanut butter chocolate pie and a giant chocolate-covered strawberry to go with our frozen yogurt lunch.
The chocolate-covered strawberry was as big and delicious as the kind you can get in Disney World which is a really high compliment coming from someone like me.
If you are wondering what the inside of the peanut butter pie looks like, I cut it in half for you.
I didn’t eat many vegetables this weekend but somehow I found the time to finish almost all of this fruit.
Time for a restock today! Have a great Monday and week ahead 🙂

Have you ever been to an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant?
Which did you like most as a kid – Twinkies, Devil Dogs or Hostess Cupcakes?
Have you had any success yet this summer with peaches? I bought a few and they were not sweet!
I usually leave your posts craving sweets, but today….oh man, you reached a new high. This was SUGAR HEAVEN. I am dreaming about it now…..think about cake tina, cake. Wedding cake tina……I might need to stay away from your blog for a few weeks 😉 Haha, No I am going to live through your sugar highs instead…..and ill stick to my handful of m&ms…..get your violin out hehe 🙂 Thanks for sharing, LOVE it, although I am SHOCKED you didnt get the waffle bowl, that is so unlike you!

I couldn’t believe I didn’t get the waffle bowl either but I was already full! I guess when you eat dessert as often as I do it’s not so hard to turn down when you are actually not that interested lol
Alex has been to an all you can eat sushi restaurant where you pay the flat fee but then everything that is left on your plate you pay for. I don’t quite understand it, but whatever. But needless to say, the first time he went, he was rather uncomfortable the next few days….

There’s a note at the end of the menu that says something like excessive leftovers will be charged. I guess they don’t want you over ordering. We did really well though with clearing the plates lol
The sushi and the coconut flour waffles – I am all over those! I haven’t had sushi in forever since no one in my family cares for it. We also don’t care for peaches all that much which means I haven’t tried any. I bought plums and no one liked those though for some reason! Too tart I guess.

My son just got into sushi which really excites me. It’s nice to have a sushi buddy in the house!
There is just so much good food in this post! I have a feeling those waffles would be perfect post-long run, but I never have the energy to do much cooking after I finish! Lately about all I can handle is a smoothie!

I definitely liked hostess cupcakes the best as a kid!

If you make these waffles in advance, they do reheat nice in the toaster. I loved the Hostess Cupcakes too but probably liked the Entenmann’s ones better if I had to choose. Loved their holiday ones!
I’ve had some great peaches and nectarines from Costco…they actually are tough to buy only because the dozen is pretty solid on purchase, but they ripen and thus soften so fast you’re eating them over a bowl by day 3! On the plus side, they are VERY sweet when that happens 🙂
Love all the frozen treats, my favorite foods!

I get the blueberries often from Costco because those I can get through quick but the peaches may be another story if they get ripe at once. I need to have at least one good ripe sweet peach this summer already.
Chocolate covered strawberries?! Yes please! I’m with you on my fruit vs. veggie consumption. I have been eating fruit with almost every meal but I seem to always forget that I need veggies too! Got to start working on that! 🙂 Hope you have a fabulous Monday!

I think it’s good that we skip the veggie sometimes — my stomach needs a break on occasion.
Wow girl..you can put away the frozen treats! I’m very impressed 🙂
I’ve been to all you can eat sushi a few times and it’s never been a good experience. I think I’ll stick to regular sushi for the time being, but I’m happy you enjoyed it!

You have to find a quality sushi place that offers it – this one is really good and doesn’t give off that all you can eat typical feel. Once in a while, it’s a great time.
I think I just got a cavity from reading this post! LOL. You’re awesome. And yes I’ve been to all you can east Sushi (I live in Vancouver!) but I never make it worth the money because I can’t eat that much. I am craving an avocado roll like nobody’s business, now though. And about 25 sugar packets. 🙂

I had a few cucumber avocado rolls in that picture lol..I didn’t even realize how much frozen yogurt I had until I wrote the post. Love the stuff!
You can never have enough frozen goodies in the summer 🙂 Out of the 3, I’d say the hostess cupcakes but the orange ones!
I loved the squiggle cupcakes too 🙂
That is my kind of weekend! I would eat froyo for every meal if I could. 🙂

A girl after my own heart with your love of sweets! That all looks amazing. I have tried coconut flour before but haven’t had great luck with it. I can’t seem to adjust to the texture.
