Happy Sunday 🙂 I hope you are all busy enjoying your weekend with lots of outdoor fun in the sun.
Just a couple of things before getting to my workout recap….
It’s time for me to order some new Pure Barre DVD’s to vary my routine again.
I am currently rotating four different Pure Barre workouts, two each from the Mile High and Studio Series collections but it’s been a good six months since adding something new which means it’s time to shake things up a bit.
I also want to pop back in to the Pure Barre studio in the next week or so for a class because I miss it!
On the running front, I came across one of my favorite running posts which I actually published a year ago, right around now.
How To Start Running — I wrote this post to give a little background on how I went from hating exercise to becoming a runner in order to help others get motivated and understand one doesn’t just wake up running 40 miles a week. I encourage you to read it!
Mile High DVD & 5 Easy Miles – So this Pure Barre DVD somehow got scratched towards the end.
Not a big deal since the parts that have a blip and a skip are during the stretching segment but still, it’s annoying.
Just another reason for me to order a new Pure Barre DVD.
Loving my new Run Inspire Crops! Totally digging the pattern. Do people still say digging?
8 Mile Run – Awesome run which I talked about in Friday’s post!
Pure Barre Studio Series DVD & 3.50 Easy Miles – I shouldn’t call these miles easy. Instead, let’s just say they were 3.50 recovery miles that averaged around 10:00 per mile and made me question how it is I run long distances when completing these three felt like forever.
8 Miles – Not fun, not fun at all.
I had to stop to adjust my laces two separate times – the first time at mile two to make them tighter and the second time at mile five to make them looser.
The tops of my feet are known to swell but the swelling feeling is more noticeable to me in the warm/humid weather for sure.
I don’t even know if the laces played a role in my icky run because icky runs do happen and sometimes we have no real reason.
I picked up the pace for the last two miles and I was really happy to completed the distance I set out for but a rest day from running is in order.
At least my socks were pretty.
Pure Barre Studio Series DVD – I used 5-lb weights for the arm section instead of my 3-lb weights. This may not sound like a big deal but if you have done Pure Barre before, you know you feel the difference!
15 Miles – I opened the front door and all I could think of was that it felt like I was stepping in to a steam bath.
It was hot and humid and barely 6:00 am.
I made it through averaging 8:45 for most of the run until I couldn’t hold that any longer and dropped to an overall average pace of 9:07.
No complaints. At least I finished in one piece 🙂
Kickboxing!- So excited to use my boxing gloves.
