Happy Birthday To Me

Lindas Fudge Cake

Happy birthday to me and a happy Friday to you!

That would be my dessert from last night. Of course my son and I ended up at The Cheesecake Factory and of course I had Linda’s Fudge Cake.

In fact, looking back on my last two year’s worth of birthday blog posts, it seems I had Linda’s Fudge Cake now three years in a row the night before my birthday. I guess I have a June 4th tradition going that I didn’t even realize.

Birthday recap 2013

Birthday recap 2014

If you recall from last year’s birthday post, I have another birthday tradition that I treat myself to every year.

I love getting a pedicure any time of the year but for my birthday, I treat myself to one of the “special” pedicures which usually involves fancier foot scrubs and a longer leg massage.

I ended up getting my birthday manicure and pedicure yesterday because I wasn’t sure I would have time today and there was no way I was missing out on one of my favorite birthday indulgences.

I know I can spend a little more money any time of the year for one of these pedicures but I save it for my birthday just to make something ordinary a little more special, like a treat.

Speaking of treats and feeling special…

Seriously, the people at Love Grown Foods are the best. Not only do I LOVE their oatmeal, they kept my favorites in mind in order to send me a special birthday package which arrived on my doorstep yesterday afternoon.

Oh and look what else arrived on my doorstep yesterday…

arm sleeves

I always wanted arm sleeves for when I run races and now I have them! Someone very thoughtful came up with this idea for me, not even realizing I needed them.

How cute are they?

So what’s on tap for me today, on this fine Friday, June 5th you wonder?

A 10 mile run after I eat some breakfast. I got in the habit of running 10 miles on my birthday because I am way too old and have better things to do than try to run 37 miles in honor of my age.

However, if we take the age of 37 and convert it to 3 +7 = 10, we have 10 miles so for this year, 10 miles makes some sense.

Next on my list is picking my son up from school early, around lunch time, so he can have Red Mango with me followed by an afternoon trip to the movies to see Spy which opens today.

We love Melissa McCarthy!

I know, I know, I am the best for taking him out of school early to play today but see, he is with his dad this weekend and we really wanted to see this movie and it’s my birthday and school is almost over anyway and it’s Friday so why not?!

As for my birthday dinner and special dessert, it’s still up in the air. I haven’t decided but I promise, you will be the first people I report to after it happens 🙂

On to the giveaway winners from this week…

The winner of the Skoop BSTRONG and blenderbottle is Danielle W!

The winner of the Love Grown Foods package is Whitney H!

Winners have been emailed — thanks to everyone for entering!

Am I really 37?!

I don’t know, I still feel like a kid. Have a great weekend!

Happy birthday!! There is nothing like a good pedicure. But i bet your fancy pedicure is the same cost as a regular one around here:) 10 miles sounds like the perfect way to spend your morning. Have a great day!!

Happy Birthday! I’m not a big birthday person so I don’t really have any traditions. This year, though, I’m going on a trip to NYC and Philly and will be running my first race in Central Park so that’s exciting! Hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the movie 🙂

Ugh I’m in desperate need of a pedicure… I keep telling myself I am going to wait until my next race, but I might need something a bit sooner. Especially now that it’s flip flop weather! I usually treat myself to a sports massage around my birthday. Something that allowed me to relax and feel special : ) No real birthday traditions, just your typical dinner somewhere nice, followed by gorging myself on sugar : ) Hope you have a fantastic birthday and what an awesome mom for taking your son out early!! Have a fabulous day!!

Awe, happy birthday cutie! I’m 37 too and you look way younger than me. Trust me. I’ve got sun splotched damaged skin and sometimes when I swing my arms a certain way the loose old skin gets stuck on the lower part of my armpit. I can roll each boob up accordion style and could probably stuff them with something and smoke it. I LOVE that you are taking your son out to a movie today! Enjoy it all. Happy Day!

    Happy Birthday!!

I love the mathematical calculation of your run 🙂 10 miles definitely sounds better than a 37 mile run. That would be a bit more of a birthday commitment. Enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday, Meredith! Your traditions are great and I like how – no matter what else may happen – you have these to look forward to every year. A surefire way to ensure there’s never a bad/grumpy mood birthday.
Given the sun came out full on for the first time this year I hope it’ll stick around for the weekend. That’d in turn mean lots of outdoor time and hopefully ice cream.

Happy late B-Day, I just turned 37 last month I don’t run but I do strength train and love doing High intensity intervals. I have a lot of people that come in my store for body building supplements to help with endurance, got a friend that runs 8 miles a day!
