Peanut Butter & Banana Protein Bites



Quick snack recipe for you today!

These little peanut butter & banana protein bites are perfect any time of the day.

Healthy and packed with protein, I will go as far as saying that you can throw a few in a baggie as your breakfast on the go or reach for one (or two) as a midnight snack.

Or crumble into yogurt, on top of banana ice cream or dip them in melted chocolate <– great idea right here.

I am sure that I am not the first to combine these staple ingredients into some sort of bite-sized snack.

In fact, I almost thought they were the same as my last protein bite recipe but they weren’t — because this time I added banana.

What I really like about the addition of the banana is that it helps the other ingredients bind so nicely together to the point where you are free to adjust and use a little less peanut butter in this recipe if that’s something you are interested in doing.

If you ask me, the more peanut butter the better but hey, it’s your snack so who am I to judge.

PB & Banana Protein Snack Bites

  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats (gluten-free if necessary)
  • 1 mashed banana (ripe to overripe)
  • heaping 1/4 cup -1/3 cup peanut butter of choice (up to you how much you want to use)
  • 1/4 cup or more raisins
  • handful mini chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 scoop of Skoop B-Strong Viva-nilla
  1. Mashed banana in a bowl.
  2. Add in the rest of your ingredients and mix well.
  3. Roll into balls and place on a plate.
  4. Refrigerate until firm.
  5. Store bites in airtight container in the refrigerator (or even freeze them!).


I love snack recipes like this because you can make them super fast and suddenly have a healthy portable treat available without having to reach for something that comes in a package.

Not all packaged snacks are terrible but I much prefer something fresh and lately, I much prefer every meal to somehow include Skoop.     I’m still working my way through my beloved Earth Balance coconut/peanut crunchy. I ration that stuff because it is hard to find! But luckily, I think that my local grocery just started carrying it!

    I also prefer making my own snacks whenever possible. Its a little more work but I am always glad to have something throughout the week! I still haven’t trip Skoop. I have been hearing about it for like a year and just never made the purchase.

    You are absolutely KILLING IT with the peanut butter recipes. I don’t know how I missed the Samoa Cookie Dough Cups recipe before but consider those being made ASAP. I’m really loving Artisana cashew butter at the moment. They come in single serve packet sizes so it’s easy for me to pack with oatmeal for my afternoon snack at work.

    Cashew butter! And I’m crossing my fingers hoping to not die that I can run on Mother’s Day. That my hamstring and hip are better and I can run. The weather is gorgeous, and there is nothing I love more than running in the sun and having a beer on the patio afterwards. PLEASE Mother’s Day gods, let it be true.

    I am not really a fan of packaged snacks. I would much rather eat snack bites like these! My favorite peanut butter right now is Trader Joes. Its pretty cheap too which makes it even better.
