The Fitness Magazine Half Marathon hoopla has been plastered in my face, all over the news and social media for the last several days.
Kara Goucher is there, running the race this morning, along with 10,000 other women but I am not one of them even though I was for the last two years.
And I don’t really care. Should I? It’s weird.
I just don’t feel that left out feeling of Ohhh I am so used to running this race at this time of year and wish I was there right now.
Two weeks from today is the Long Island Half Marathon. I still haven’t registered (major chance of interference by my cycle) but I REALLY do want to run it.
I feel so ready to break my PR from 2013 for this race and finish under 1:45.
I need to make a decision by this Friday which will be based upon an educated guessing game of how I think I might feel the day of the race.
As soon as I figure out what the heck I am going to do, you will be the first to know!
Pure Barre Mile High DVD & 5 Easy Miles – Do I not tell you every week that I love the Mile High Series? Quick, concise yet gets the lift, tone and burn job done every single time.
5 easy miles because that’s how I seem to roll on Mondays, rebuilding and recovering my muscles for a quicker paced longer run on Tuesday.
I finished my run before it started to rain and didn’t mess up my hair so I like to think this run was a success.
My pace was much quicker than it felt. In fact, I don’t know how I kept up such a pace because I was feeling much more tired than it reflects.
Miles 1-4 @ 8:18
I didn’t really understand since my legs were totally in groove but the rest of me knew I needed to slow down.
Mile 5 @ 8:55
But then I picked it back up without much effort.
Mile 6 @ 8: 08
Miles 7- 8 @ 8:33
Such a weird run for me because my body was moving with no issue but I had that overall feeling inside that said day off from running tomorrow is required.
Pure Barre Mile High Series DVD & 30 Minutes Elliptical – It is so awesome to have the sun up and shining with me lately when I do Pure Barre in the early morning because it brightens my living room and my mood.
Am I the only lazy person who leaves the tags on the weights and doesn’t realize until taking the picture?
It was so gorgeous outside and I sort of wanted to run but JUST KNEW that taking a day off from running was the best thing for me as it would only help the rest of the week’s runs to feel that much more awesome.
I pedaled on the elliptical instead for a bit. It had been a while since I was inside the gym.
I was the only one there which was fine since I don’t like people anyway.
8 Miles – If you missed Friday’s in-depth discussion about this run, click here to read it!
Pure Barre Mile High DVD & 5 Easy Miles – I was up late Thursday night so waking up and working out definitely required a lot of coffee — at least my Keurig was working!
Easy five miles in the rain…run and done.
13.1 Miles – It was already 60 degrees at the start of my run! I broke out my Nike running skirt (and purple Pro Compression marathon socks) for the occasion.
My pace was super consistent and comfortable, averaging 8:25 — except for two miles when I was on the phone and it jumped up a bit to 8:45 🙂
Pure Barre DVD (not sure which one) & maybe short shake out run
