I have been drinking a lot of tea lately. No no, don’t be silly, just because I am drinking a lot of tea does not mean I stopped drinking a lot of coffee.
In fact, when I work from Panera I drink more than a lot of coffee. I am a sucker for free refills.
Just yesterday I worked from Panera and finished up a project I have been working on over the last couple of months.
And then, a few hours later, out of nowhere, my computer decided to not only restart, it chose to refresh.
What is refresh? Not a clue but I will define it as my computer conducting a fueng shui and deleting my most important file ever.
As I panicked, I made myself a mug of Yogi Tea. It is said that people who hold a hot mug of anything in their hands automatically makes them feel calmer and kinder.
If you drink Yogi tea, which I hope you do, you already know that each tea bag comes with an inspiring quote.
My quote for yesterday could not have been more fitting:
Recovering my most important file seemed like quite the impossible challenge.
I wanted to cry but didn’t. I tried everything (or so I thought) to locate the missing file. I knew that crying would not help so instead I sat down to try to recreate the work I lost.
Thankfully, as I sat there miserably trying not to cry, my wonderful friend and next door neighbor (the one who is selfless with her Edible Arrangements) did some googling and figured out a process to find and restore the file.
Happiness is an understatement. When we recovered the file we were both so happy we were afraid to breathe.
I couldn’t get the words out quickly enough to thank her.
This has not been my week for technology. Although aside from losing every contact in my phone, I must admit that I am loving my new iphone.
Everything is running so much smoother, including the MapMyRun app.
I can’t wait to get out there tomorrow for my Saturday long run and see if it continues to calculate the route and pace correctly.
Speaking of phones, I had a proud mom moment yesterday that gave me another moment of true happiness:
See this hunk of heavenly fudge cake? Do you know who has this slice of decadence as their home screen on their phone?
That’s right, my little boy. Let’s not discuss that 10-year-old boys have iphones. Let’s not even go there.
He may taunt me to no end regarding my love for dessert, but it appears he is just like me. And I love it.
He was even kind enough to text me the picture so now we can have matching home screens.
We aren’t too good at sharing our dessert but at least we know how to share pictures of it, yes?
So it is Friday. Another reason I am quite happy today. It has been a long week and I have a ton of fun things on tap for this weekend including, but not limited to, a party to attend, a hair appointment (highlight time!), manicure, shopping for new fall clothes and boots, and celebrating my friend’s birthday.
I am sure somewhere in all of that I will consume at least one onion ring and a delicious dessert.
Have a great weekend!
