Red Mango Frozen Yogurt Smoothies!

Red Mango SuperBiotics Smoothies Summer Logo

It is no secret that my favorite frozen yogurt is Red Mango.

Red Mango is not only my favorite frozen yogurt store, I consider it to be one of my top three favorite restaurants.

There is no match, substitute or replacement for Red Mango frozen yogurt. The variety of fresh fruit available in their toppings bar (as well as my favorite Pumpkin Flax Granola)  is unlike any other.

Imagine my excitement when I was contacted by the extremely kind people at Red Mango regarding the opportunity to test out their new line of Red Mango frozen yogurt smoothies!

Now, I am not  a routine smoothie drinker (I prefer to chew my food) but anything Red Mango is awesome to me so of course I jumped at the chance to conduct this taste test of frozen yogurt smoothies!

For those of you not in the know, Red Mango, one of the fastest-growing retailers of all-natural frozen yogurt and fresh fruit smoothies, just launched 22 brand new super biotic summer smoothies that cater to four different categories:

  • Body Balance: Flavorful and functional yogurt smoothies formulated with beneficial boosts
  • All Fruit Harmony: Refreshing dairy-free and soy-free smoothies made only with fruit, juice and ice.
  • Twisted Fruits: Smooth and creamy signature yogurt smoothies offered in new and innovative fruit-forward flavors.
  • Just Kidd’n: Naturally delicious, snack-sized fruit and yogurt smoothies, blended just for kids.

My friend and I were quite excited to conduct this little taste test.

We ordered four different Red Mango frozen yogurt smoothies attempting to cover a variety of the new combinations.

First up (and our favorites):

BERRY POWER PROTEIN  – frozen yogurt, strawberries, bananas, granola, peanut butter and protein boost.

PB & J HUNGER ZERO  – frozen yogurt, peanut butter, banana, strawberries, raspberries and Metabolic Fit  360 boost.

*They were out of the Metabolic Fit 360 so we opted for the Dark Chocolate Mate instead.

Don’t know what Dark Chocolate Mate is?  Don’t feel bad. I didn’t know either until doing this review.

The four new smoothie boosts available at Red Mango have been formulated to meet the nutritional and dietary needs of today’s health-conscious consumers who find it increasingly important to embrace a wholesome, well-balanced diet.

  • Metabolic Fit 360™: A proprietary blend of protein, calcium and African Mango which supports metabolic balance and promotes healthy weight management.
  • Dark Chocolate Mate:  Finely ground, Brazilian roasted maté and dark chocolate making for a delicious, rich, low-calorie flavor which also supplies a nice dose of antioxidants.
  • Tropical Hibiscus: Finely ground, premium Nigerian hibiscus blossoms infused with natural pineapple and lychee; a bright and tropical low-calorie flavor and antioxidant boost.
  • Green Tea Acai: Finely ground, premium green tea with açai berries, the Amazonian superfruit; a low-calorie antioxidant boost made with the best ingredients.

While both smoothies were good, we both liked the PB & J Hunger Zero the best. It was delicious.

Perhaps it was the sweetness of the raspberries combined with the peanut butter or maybe it was the Dark Chocolate Mate- whatever it was, this smoothie is worth ordering.

I must admit that after a few sips, we both chose to eat our smoothies with a spoon.

And, we couldn’t help but add the dark chocolate chips from the toppings bar.

What can I say, I like to chew.

Next up was the Berry Medley Hibiscus from the All-Fruit Harmony menu.

The Berry Medley Hibiscus smoothie is a dairy free/soy free blend of raspberries, pineapple, mango, an apple-orange juice blended with hibiscus lychee and rose hips.

Unfortunately,  I did not like the taste of this smoothie at all.

I don’t know if it is because this smoothie didn’t involve frozen yogurt or if it was the combination of the ingredients – either way, it was not something I would choose to order.

The Strawberry Energizer however, which consisted of frozen yogurt, strawberries and energy boost was really really good.

I can’t say that I felt an energy boost  – all I know is that it tasted refreshing and delicious.

I couldn’t leave the little boy out of the taste testing fun – especially when Red Mango added a new smoothie line especially for the kids.

He chose THE LIL PB CUP. Of course he did, he is my child.

This smoothie is a blend of frozen yogurt, peanut butter,  Ghirardelli chocolate and banana.

He really liked it but felt it was too heavy on the banana flavor and not enough peanut butter.

If you are a smoothie drinker, I highly recommend that you get yourself to Red Mango.

The menu is extensive which ensures that there is a smoothie for just about any craving. Besides the taste, the best thing about their smoothies and frozen yogurt is that you are making a healthy choice; indulgent without the guilt.

And if you don’t believe me, the ingredients speak for themselves:

If healthy and delicious isn’t enough, my Club Mango Points Card helps me earn $5 rewards quite often.

Now get excited – it is Club Mango Double Points time this week!

I also looooove Red Mango – I recently went there 4 times in 5 days. And although I generally agree that I prefer to chew my food, I have lately been having a lot of smoothies for breakfast, and enjoying them. A smoothie from RED MANGO? It’s got to be even better.
