I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. If you are lucky, you are still off today.
Or, if you have a really cool mother, you aren’t going back to school today. Instead you are going to Opening Day for the Mets.
He is going with his dad but aren’t I still cool for agreeing? Especially since I am a Yankees fan?
I couldn’t help but laugh when I came across this cartoon.
Anyway, I purchase a bunch of random and fabulous products this weekend. So fabulous that I must share a few of them with you this morning!
Under Armour socks. So far so good.
The socks seem to stay in place and come up a little higher so the tongue of the shoe doesn’t irritate my skin.
Although, as I said on Saturday, a proper product review requires several days of testing. So I will keep you posted.
New Lulu Lemon running pants. I scored this pair from the “we made too much” sale section. Note the skirt that covers the tush.
I wasn’t sure how it would look but it actually fits really cute.
Perhaps the skirt is there to cover any see-through fabric? I know we didn’t discuss this recent Lulu issue. If you missed the attack of the see-through Lulu pants, click here for more info.
As my Lulu socks were torturing me this past weekend during Saturday’s long run, I thought about the see- through pants issue and decided I would rather have my tush being shown to the world while I ran comfortably than deal with the miserable socks wrapping around my toes.
We all have a tush, yes?
I didn’t love how any of the Lulu shirts looked with the skirted pants so I found this top at Nordstrom.
The Zella brand has a nice variety of fitness apparel and accessories. I believe the designer of Zella originally worked for Lulu? Don’t quote me on that.
And if my new apparel finds weren’t exciting enough, check out what else I picked up this weekend:
I have been meaning to buy chop sticks to use at home for a while. I even got the little boy a pair that are easier to use.
I couldn’t wait to test them out with dinner last night.
So fun!
I spotted the Entenmann’s coffee a few months ago and I have been thinking about it quite often. Probably because I am hopeful the coffee can taste as good as the Entenmann’s donut.
My all-time favorite donut was the Devil’s Food Crumb.
I used to love finding all of the crumbs at the bottom of the box.
Ahh the good old days prior to reading product labels.
Ignorance was such delicious bliss.
I finally broke down and bought the insert for the Keurig machine so that I could go back to the “old-fashioned” way of making coffee.
I had the vanilla this morning. Delicious. Next up, the Chocolate Donut.
I was quite excited to see this jar of Sarabeth’s Orange Apricot Marmalade in my travel this weekend. There is a new recipe I came across using Orange Marmalade that I think the boy will like.
I will post my version of the recipe later this week.
I couldn’t wait to use these adorable ramekins. I don’t deviate from my usual breakfast all that often but I felt the need to whip up a baked oatmeal in order to use the cute little cup.
Baked Oatmeal for One:
- 1/4 cup Old Fashioned Oats
- 1 egg white
- 1 spoonful greek yogurt
- 1 tsp chia seeds *
- pinch of cinnamon
- handful of blueberries **
- pinch of baking powder
- piece of banana (mashed) **
*If you don’t have chia seeds, don’t worry- they aren’t necessary for the recipe. I just bought a bag of the seeds recently and I am trying to throw them into my breakfasts for a boost of the Omega-3’s.
**Feel free to use any fruits you wish. Pumpkin in place of banana; apples, raisins, strawberries in place of (or in addition to!) blueberries. Go ahead and add spoonful of peanut butter, almond butter to the mix.
I used plain yogurt but you can easily use any flavor that you have on hand. Or, if you don’t have yogurt, a spoonful of milk will do just fine.
Be creative people!
Mix all ingredients inside of an oven-safe lightly greased ramekin. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until firm to touch, lightly crisped on top.
Top with additional berries, banana, yogurt, milk, peanut butter….
Perfect pre-run fuel.
I am going to go hit the path for a quick run. Hopefully I still like my new socks!
I need to know:
Have you tried Under Armour socks?
Have you bought any Zella fitness apparel?
Do you use the Keurig or the “old-fashioned” brewing method?
Chopsticks are my favorite. I actually just bought some as a gift for my parents but I’d like to get my own pair to use.
