Hi! I’m Meredith!
Please run along with me in my quest to raise my son to learn the importance of leading an active lifestyle balanced with healthy foods along with our favorite treats.
Everything in moderation, right?
A little bit about me:
I received my BA in Marketing from Hofstra University way back in the year 2000. Prior to my son being born in 2003, I worked in the promotions industry.
I was a stay-at-home mom for the first seven years of my son’s life. I wouldn’t trade those moments with him for the world!
Following my divorce, I got back into some part time event industry work and then completed my Professional Certificate from The University of Stonybrook in Nutrition for Optimal Health and Sport Performance. It was time to also focus on something I truly have a passion for and enjoy!
I was the Nutrition Representative for my son’s elementary school and remain active in my attendance at the monthly Nutrition meetings within our district.
Children learn from us parents and are a product of their environment. I always say, if we don’t buy fresh fruits and vegetables, our children will never learn to enjoy them!
My positive attitude towards healthy living does not stop here. I have taken my own experiences surrounding my divorce as well as my co-parenting techniques to use in order to help others.
I share my knowledge, thoughts and experiences through my personal blog posts and have a divorce ebook in the works.
In addition to writing here on the blog, I am a freelance writer doing A TON of writing and social media work in the event industry.
How I came up with blog name, The Cookie ChRUNicles:
As most runners know, one often experiences their best and most creative thoughts while running. During one of my long runs early in January 2013, the name The Cookie ChRUNicles just came to me, and the rest is history.
The Cookie ChRUNicles is a funny yet informative chronicle of my daily mileage as a single mother in New York.
In my life, as you will see, there is never a dull moment, workout or dessert to be had.
