Treadmill Workouts To Try This Winter

I’ve noticed a HUGE spike in my search term results over the last few days for this Long Run On The Treadmill Workout Plan post from 2015! It’s an oldie in my mind, just based on the time period in my life, but such a great workout post!

Clearly the winter weather is keeping most runners indoors leading them to search the internet for treadmill inspiration and ideas.

If you click through to read this workout post, not only does it involve details for the below long run workout, it also explains preparations for running indoors, especially when it’s a long run on the treadmill.

Additionally, my favorite easy run on the treadmill workout plan post has been popping up a whole lot too! I probably run this workout on the treadmill more than any other workout listed on the blog. This is an easy to follow running workout that just helps you stay within an easy running zone while still engaging you mentally.

If you are looking for a few more treadmill workouts to try this winter, here are some that I recommend:

This 7 mile workout that I shared over the summer would work really well on the treadmill. You can select your pace range depending upon the day too.

This 60 Minute Speed Interval Treadmill Workout definitely keeps the mind engaged with constant changes to your speed while also working you really well in the process. Click through to the post for full explanation of the workout!

If you always run by distance or pace, try running by time instead. This Run By Time Tempo Workout can easily be accomplished indoors on the treadmill.

Also, my Don’t Hate The Treadmill Workout Round-Up may be useful for additional workouts and treadmill conversations! I’ve got the rest of my running workouts listed in the running section up in the top menu bar too. 🙂

These will be perfect to try when I start running on my treadmill! I already know that I will get bored on there and want to try different workouts to change things up.

I can’t wait for it to warm up a bit so I can try to 7 mile workout without fear of slipping on ice. I feel like the only runner without access to a treadmill this winter.

I hope your foot is good to run this week!

I run on the treadmill a few times a month. I’m a morning runner, so if I don’t have someone to run with, I stick to the treadmill and since I’m in Cali, the weather here is pretty darn nice for outside running 🙂

I’ve done a 20 mile run on the treadmill before. I hope to never do that again!! 10 is about my max, and I definitely have to play with the speed 🙂 My favorite is to do a pyramid run. I’ll start at around a 6.5mph for the first 8 min, then a 7mph for the next 7 min, then 7.3mph for 6 min, etc. Once I get to my fastest speed for a min, I will continue to lower my speed until I’m at a 6.5mph. This seems to work well for the longer runs 🙂

I cannot even imagine 20 on the treadmill! I used to do 13, maybe one time 14. but I think I agree – 10 is more of a max right now. I like your pyramid workout! I need to try that.

The treadmill is a struggle for me! I ran on it last week for the first time in a long time. This is a great round up of workouts and so timely!
